Why do you believe/assume McGrady is healthy?

We might squeak into the playoffs and if we did we would get bounced. Name the last NBA team to win a championship that didn't have an allstar? Hell name the last one that didn't have 2 star caliber players.

To my recollection the answer to the latter question was the 94 Rockets. We had Hakeem and a similar supporting cast. Now we only have the supporting cast. I don't believe ANY team has won without a star player and neither will we. I love this team but you got to face the facts, just look at the Spurs, Robinson out just like Yao in comes Duncan and 4 championships later.....

I don't care what's happened since this moment.

Outside of the championships in 94/95 this is my favorite Rockets memory.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWKufqYqePY

We've all seen it a thousand times. But just watch it as if you'd never seen it before, or as if you didn't deal with all the BS that happened last year. If you watched it live, just try to remember how you felt...the excitement. I can't. I've watched this video countless times and it's never failed to give me goosebumps.

It's hard for me to be objective about the guy. I wrote him off last year - but the guy can do the most amazing stuff. If someone offered me the trade of losing this moment (13 in 35) but trading all of T-Mac's first round losses for second round losses I still wouldn't trade.

He doesn't always give it his best. He's not always focused and he's not the team first player all the time...but Tracy has been part of our most memorable Rockets moments outside of the championships. From the 13 in 35 to the 22 game streak, to his forced retirement of Shawn Bradley, this guy is a part of Rockets history, no matter how much some fans may resent him now.

I don't know if he'll make the team better. He very well may not. I just can't be one of those fans who says that he won't and hopes that he never gets his shot to make sure I never get proven wrong. Outside of actual championships I've never been more grateful of a player than I was in Tracy that game - seeing it live just seals it as one of my favorite sports memories.

Right now, T-Mac's value is at it's lowest. Get him a bit playing time to increase his trade value, that or wait till the trade deadline.

How can you say that when you DO NOT KNOW if Tracy will be back playing well or poor?

    baller that is not true.

If he is still favoring his knee, he is not ready to play.

If he doesn't have the explosiveness, he is not ready to play.

I think the Rockets are doing the right thing for both the organization and Tracy.

Because he is not a center or a shot blocking PF, and even if healthy does not make this a contending team.

It makes more sense to sit him and drive his value through the basement than it does to play him and help him get a new contract.

If they did that then almost everyone on this board would start bashing McGrady because he's not being a team player since he's not on the bench.

Maybe its coming from the "insiders" (Stevierebel, Rockets9495) posting in this thread. They're pretty much saying the same thing, and I don't think they're in McGrady's camp.

DD obviously just doesn't like t-mac as person, rather than as a basketball player.

This article saddens me. I know that Y! sports is usually very credible so I believe it. I'm not happy with the way the organization has handled this situation. He's our best player, let him play. Let him have free reign like he did in Orlando and score 30+ per game. We aren't going anywhere anyways this year so let's have some fun and allow the fans to be entertained with the last year of our superstar player.

Why would you say that it would be a good guess to say that this info is coming from T-Mac's camp? Isn't that being a bit presumptuous? Until the Rockets organization says what their intentions CLEARLY are regarding T-Mac it's impossible to know where any of this info is coming from...

So says one report today. The report tomorrow will say he's explosive and pain-free. When you've dealt with as much BS and drama that we have from numerous angles and channels, you learn to read between the lines. When you do that you realize that from no matter what perspective nor whoever the source is, we wouldn't be dealing with all this petty drama unless he wasn't 90-100% ready to play.

No, I prefer to cheer for what is best for the organization.

And I do not like the way Tmac plays, I love the way this team plays.....hard on offense, hard on defense, together......let them develop.

Why play a guy who is just going to walk at the end of the year anyway?

I don't understand the logic of being afraid that TMac would intentionally play bad to avoid a trade. This is his contract year. Why would he jeopardize his future earning? If he plays bad, the Rockets can't trade him. They will just let him walk and he can't get a good contract out there because nobody would take the risk.

TMac has all the reasons to want to play well so he can get a good contract either from Houston or from some other team.

So the only logical reason for the Rockets management not wanting to play him is that they really think he can't play well thereby lowering the already low trade value. And yes, the insurance money... but that seems pretty classless to me.

i can care less, i know well have a better chance of winning with an unhealty tracy than an unexperienced trevor. Tracy gives us a better chance to win more games...how do i know? Hes the best player we have on the roster...period. "healthy" or not. PPG isnt everything ( im sure hell still lead the team while "unhealthy" anyway) Tracy is the best playmaker on the team. He commands attention...double teams means more open looks for non playmakers like trevor, chase, etc. Its no getting around this... If tracy isnt gonna be played then were losing in more ways not reflected in the stat sheet. lose/lose...period.

But how can you seriously believe ANYTHING this guy says? He was ready lots of times last year too?

How can ANYONE believe what he says?

Just trust Adelman and Morey they are the only mature people commenting about this situation.

They know what is what.....I trust them......

If the Rockets don't want T-mac back, why let him practice and travel with the team?

Makes no sense. Just tell him to stay home. It's very confusing.
