I thought Dr. Clanton was going to retire from being the Rockets team Doctor? This guy has not been good the last couple of years starting with TMac's health issues.

I am still holding off till the next round of tests. I will light a candle for Yao to get his foot healthier to play again if not for that but for him to be able to just be able to play with his future kids.

Can somebody translate this article please ?(from china sohu)

Bucher's Twitter "Yao update: Same situation as March '08. Returned for Olympics and best season. Likeliest scenario - surgery, misses part of next season."

Serious Questions Regarding Yao's left feet(Doctor if Possible)

In memory serves me right, it was the same kind of injury that cut short yao's nba season last year, a stress fracture in his left foot. This is the same injury from last year, so why is Tom Clanton calling it a career ending injury. Yao came back from last year's injury and had one of his best season's(70+ games).

Is it because the healing process is not going as plan or is it something medically wrong with it? i just don't understand.

It may be a huge sigh of relief now but its just as likely that it will happen again. And Ill still hold out for Morey's word despite what Bucher is hearing or thinking.

If Yao is able to play for season 2009-2010, then what? Burn those certificates? I'll volunteer.
I start to doubt the diagnosis of this "hairline fracture" things. At beginning when they pull Yao out of playoff under such a fishy diagnosis, I just do not feel right.
Physicians like to exaggerate the severity of a possible diagnosis due to liability. better safe than sorry, right? Of course, its right. That's what makes the news.
Common sense is Hairline fracture will heal! It is not tumor, Yao is not old, why it can not heal. It just does not make sense to me.
I am not in a denial mode. Trust me. Yao will play this year. Hope no more mislead or exaggeration from those so called experts.
    Bone will heal. Said God.

no wonder you have 2.3k posts and are still a rookie.

to answer your question, the injury that yao had this year should have healed like the injury from the year before. The reason this has more severe implications is because the injury has NOT healed. the injuries are quite similar.

There were already screws in that foot. The whole point of the surgery was to prevent it from happening in the future, and it ended up happening again. It could be more serious than once thought, and a premature return to playing could render him unable to play ever again. Therefore a season may be required to allow it to fully heal.

Can someone answer this for me who has more knowledge on the situation? Say Yao opts and tries to let it heal again, but sees nothing again, and then opts for surgery, what exactly will the surgery do since he has screws in the same foot and it was still not healing? Correct me if Im wrong on anything and thanks.
