It is not good and if there were no problems this story would not have even come out

I think the Rockets without Yao can still make the playoffs. Now the question is, would you rather to see the Rockets make the playoffs but can't pass the first round or the Rockets tank the season by giving the rookies lots of minutes so they could get a higher pick in the next draft?

Dude, we are talking about essentially the single most valuable foot in the entire world. We have the best and most advanced medical treatments available here, and he will get every last bit of it if necessary.

Maybe he takes a year off and babies the foot, maybe he has some super-duper TO-style hyperbaric chamber treatments, etc etc whatever. Fact is, the guy is a basketball junkie and his desire to play and to win a championship will not diminish, and if it means he has to go down a long road, then he will.

If the Rockets can A) get some reliable backup help for him, and B) convince the stupid CNT to get off his back, then he could play another 10 years, once this thing hets properly healed.

And he needs to go ahead and lose weight, it's ok if he drops about 40 lbs or so, it will lengthen his career, once Shaq is gone, there won't be anyone bigger than him anyway.

I wonder if Yao played a pick-up game in the Park and twisted his ankle would guys freak out like this. The organization already knows about his foot injury and yet guys are reading about it like its a new thing. SMH wow

I was completely and utterly shocked about Michael Jackson dieing. This? I hate to say it, but I'm not completely shocked.

Really, I'm not surprised at all and that's the sad part. I've almost expected something like this every season for the last 2 years or so. :(

Do you think this will affect Ron's decision to resign?

Its just speculation, that’s true but, this is the third time around for his left foot... then there was that big toe problem he had and his broken right knee. A man his size is going to have problems with his feet and knees, no one is arguing that point and we have all appreciated Yao's time with the Rockets.... lets hold on to hope and see how it pans out.

But if Yao is done for next season and Tracy is missing half the season what do the Rockets look like.. if they resign Artest.. and nothing else happens... with this lineup its pretty much time to pick up the pace, so do we want to resign Ron? and wouldn't we want Amare even more?

    Scola
    Landry
    Artest
    Battier
    Brooks

    bench

    Hayes
    Barry
    White
    Lowery
    Dorsey
    Wafer
    Taylor
    Budinger
    Cook
Llull - who will be in Spain
    Tracy at some point

    A voice of reason.

Had Vecsey said this instead of this Yahoo guy, we'd all dismiss it. Truthfully, it's not entirely different.

If I were the manager, I wouldn't resign him knowing that Yao will be out for the whole season. He could help the Rockets win a few more games, but that doesn't help much.

If this is true, without a doubt. Ron wants money, but he also wants to play for a winning team.

Well aren't we in a little doo doo? We are losing both our franchise players.

Amare and Rubio wouldn't be such a bad duo to build a team around.
