its so obvious after 3 times of that foot being injured there is something wrong with it but i guess they think they can patch it up like a tire and run it. I expected this news since the game he got injured in the game.

I think the article is mostly BS. It's so vague and full of speculation I just think our pal Adrian needed something to get some hits on yahoo sports.

The part that does and has scared me is why anyone should think his foot won't do this again. He broke it by running and jumping and the treatment is to let it heal and not surgically strengthen it? If it broke for no good reason before and you don't strengthen it you can expect it to break again, and again, and again.

I'm no doctor but I would think there is something that could/should have be done to strengthen the bone so Yao will stop breaking his foot doing normal basketball motions. Or was the plan to just hope he makes it through a whole season without breaking it again?

Ok yes this is a bummer!!!

But what did you guys expect? There were many many signs something like this might happen. He's frigin 7'6" and weighs over 320 pounds. That just takes a toll on the human body running up and down the court with other 250 + pound men banging against you (sounds weird) . I'm a realist and you have to deal the cards your dealt. Sob for a little and move on. Start building for the future.

I wonder if Yao's expiring contract will now become a chip in the same way that Tracy's is. This is just unbelievable. :(

OOOh man this is a comedy show. Why are guys freaking out??? Anything about Yao Ming news and guys go crazy. Unbelievable. The playoffs ended in late May early June. Do you really expect a fracture foot to heal that quick and its only July basically. Come on think.

What's odd is this doesn't really phase me anymore, I guess I'm just use to him and/or T-mac always being out with something..

if you break something and it heals naturally, the bone will be stronger than it was before. that doesn't mean it wont break in a different place though.

you should trust this rumor. its almost guaranteed to be true.

Ok so lets assume he is done and if he comes back thats gravy kinda like Iguaskies from Cleveland. So I say this is the crossroads that the Rockets were facing two years down the road but accelrated!

Path 1: Trade all the veterns including Battier to contenders who need help and collect as much young talent as possible. Dont resign Ron or any free agent past 1 year. The draft should be strong next season and with the free agent class being strong it could turn around quick.
Path 2: If the Rox still want to contend we can trade TMAC for quality, resign Ron or Hebo T. and tweek here or there. Its a sticky situation because we are probably good enough to contend but probably not for a title.

Either way its better to get this info now then game 7 of a playoff series next year!

Jason Friedman of Rockets.com didn't admit to anything other than Yao is getting more opinons. He didn't admit to it and said no decisions have been made yet. I feel he's just saying what he needs to say becasue he said the source is a good one. Said he wasn't real shocked about todays story !!!!! Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
