I'd even trade Battier and Scola for picks and young players.

...........wait, Morey might have started the rebuilding way earlier than we thought.

SO...either team doctors have been lying the whole f****** time.

Or apparently, 7'6 giants can't feel fractures in their foot.

don't expect houston to admit to any of this, part of the reason why they were so quiet about it before is probably to keep their leverage in trade talks..now others team know we'll be deperate.....not that we'll make a stupid trade, but if we could have pulled one off that was mor ein our favor, we probably won't be able to anymore...

Totally agree. That was my reaction as well.

Watching the Rockets for the last decade or so has just turned me numb to news like this. Just no reaction from me at all. Very strange.

telling a local station will have some credibility but doing an official press conference to stop anything in place and allowing reporters to ask question will show that there isnt any tomfoolery going on (though there very well could be)

also remember this is Yao we're talking about a global icon so trying to refute news through a radio station would not do him justice.

of course now everyone will be waiting to hear from Dr. Clanton (or whoever the new doc is)

I expect a cryptic "response" that will all but confirm.

    Wow, if this gets confirmed

I felt we had one more season...

I hate to see us start over, but if we do we need to rethink all of our strategy.

We have to be more careful than ever with free agents. We have to be sure we don't try for a quick fix.

Morey needs to have a very good plan going forward.

Even if Yao can return to play again, I think we should start the rebuilding program asap

Over the past 3 years, Yao has been injured more than Tmac, but yet Tmac gets the rap for being injured all the time. Big, slow footed centers are not the future of the NBA, nor should you build your team around them. Athletic centers like Dwight Howard are the future.

I have been saying it for years. Not trading Yao when we had the chance was going to haunt the Rockets for a really long time. Since we have drafted Yao it has been hard to really root for the Rockets because I have always hated Yao's game (from day 1) but damn it to hell I still rooted like crazy. Oh well at least we can finally get past Yao and start a real team for the RIGHT reasons. (Not just keeping a player for the money he brings in to the owner, despite his obvious limitations)

I'm starting to think Toyota Center was built over an Indian burial ground or something.

Screw it. Forget Rubio, and tank for John Wall, who's apparently the next Derrick Rose.

I'm excited about starting over. The Yao and Tmac act has been tired for awhile now. Think about it.

Calm down guys....I still dont really believe this. Remember all the crap people made up about T-Mac when he was injured?

And think about it.....they said he still didnt heal up yet and will need a cast or w/e......how is it all of a sudden he needs a full season and more to heal?

    Real fishy.

At this point, it's pure speculation. The Knicks could be "the source." If they want a leg up in the trade race for Rubio, this is exactly the kind of story they'd put out. The Rockets played their hand, saying Yao hasn't healed, in order to keep him out of the Chinese leagues this summer, and the Knicks just upped the ante. You think Rubio would want to come to Houston if Yao is finished?

Is it just me or is Yahoo the only one with this story? It seems like this article is more speculation than anything at this point.

We will see. I still think he has a chance to play in NBA, the injure is not that bad to end someone's career.

I wonder if Morey still uses video games and stats 2 determine the guys he want. Need 2 BLOW THE TEAM UP. Yao is too much of an injury prone player McGrady also. But it never amazes me. McGrady is out 1 year the next year Yao is out. I was expecting this. Oh well if its true or not the Rockets still have time to get someone. Its summer time not the fall

That's because 75% of the time when Tracy is on the court he's giving a half-ass effort and usually citing some sort of injury that's bothering him afterward.

    "My knee's not right..."

    "My shoulder is bothering me..."

Then a week later..."I'm 100%, look out world!"

Only to start all over again after one good game.
