True, but usually where there's smoke there's fire.

I mean, we all kind of had a feeling, right?

Why isn't there a sniff of this on ESPN.com yet?

I hate to make a joke out of this if this is indeed true but if we do rebuild, the first step may be to bring in a new medical/training staff. Of course, you really cant do anything with Yao being 7'6 and 320-330. No matter who you have you probably cant prevent the injuries on him. As for T-Mac, is it hes old(basketball wise) or did injuries reoccur because of not proper treatment and healing? It seems we lead the league or are at the top in injuries each year [to our major players]. If this is indeed it for Yao, a sad way to go out. Wish you well Yao, hopefully you can come back.

We all knew this was the way his NBA career would end, so no surprise there except maybe we would've liked "later" better than "sooner".

What is surprising though is how I'm totally unmoved by the news.

When I told the wife the news, she said "wow" and I responded by shrugging my shoulders.

Maybe all the injuries between Yao and T-mac these past few years have left me caloused.

None-the-less, I'm just going to continue shrugging my shoulders and hope for good health for any team Houston puts on the floor.

I would consider yahoo a reputable source. They're no hoopshype or realgm...

Morey is also too good to overlook the absolute gold mine that is the 2010 free agent market.

Say we are without Yao and McGrady starting next year? Why even bother signing Artest? He's not going to do anything other than make us a 30-35 win team next year. I'd rather skip Artest and be really bad so we position ourselves for a high draft pick.

Did I miss something? When exactly did ESPN come to be regarded as the bastion of journalistic prescience?

That "the Rockets" just didn't tell 1560 that this is bogus is a bad sign. Having and official conference or call or something to "address it" means there is some careful statement preparation going on.

Seriously. I usually mock ESPN. I didn't realize now they are suddenly a beacon in the world of horrible journalism.

the rockets have an excellent training/medical staff. i'm not joking, either.

yao gets hurt because of his extreme size and activity.

tracy gets hurt because he doesnt listen to our staff at all.

because they may no have access to the sources yahoo had, i dont think they'd be thrilled about reporting something and citing yhaoo as it's source...plus yahoo tends to break sotries now earlier than espn, sometimes much earlier, not surprised..

Rest him all of next year. Maybe he can come back like Grant Hill someday. It might be better in the long run.

Exactly. Does anyone think ESPN will report that they've been scooped by Yahoo Sports yet again?
