The draft is so silly, who cares if vy chose a bad agent. someone on the radio was saying that's a bad reflection on his judgement. then again, ricky williams chose master p.
one thing i noticed in that mock draft was... there were 5 USC players and 5 Ohio State players in it. which means UT beat a 1/3 of the first round this last season also with ohio state losing all those good players it seems like that matchup next year should be a good one even though Young is gone its on the home field and UT has all those great running backs and wideouts back. the new season needs to start!
VY didn't even work out at the combine. The only thing he did was interview with teams and take the Wonderlick.
The Raiders were for years my 3rd fav (behind the Oilers and Boys), I would be fine if VY went there and think their outlook would change drastically. (Aside it looks like they are cutting Collins, got think they are thinking QB). But right now I think VY goes to the Titans and another ghost will haunt Houston football for a long, long time. The Titans have SM for 1 more year, it is the ideal situation to bring in VY and what they are hoping to do. (I think think there is a Cutler smokescreen and they are playing down VY so that other teams don't try to jump them via Hou or NO).
I can understand your side on the Bush/Young debate, but enough with the haunting crap. I believe that if Vince goes to the Titans it will just make the Texans/Titans games more exciting.
Did you hear the story of the time these three teenagers were in the woods, and then suddenly they saw Vince Young...and he had a HOOK FOR A HAND?????
Agreed. VY in the black and white could turn that team around, he would have some serious weapons in Moss and Jordan to work with. I already like the Raiders but VY could make them my favorite team, especially if things don't work out w/ the Texans. As for the Titans, they seem to be in the best position in the draft. They are guaranteed 1 of the 3 QBs and actually have a decent chance at Bush (which I could see them dealing him for #1 pick overall value). I could see Fisher and Adams really wanting VY to groom behind McNair, it's almost a perfect situation for them, add in the fact that he would have a whole year under Chow to learn things, that alone could be a recipe for greatness. But I also see Chow wanting Cutler ahead of VY, Cutler is much more of a pro-style QB and Chow has turned a bunch of them out (S. Young, Palmer, Leinart, etc...) But I don't think they would turn down VY just for the offensive coordinator.
Haunting crap? I can understand you and many others thinking that going with Carr + Bush/trade down for non-QB as the way to go. It is a sensible decision, I just don't think it will be the right one. But I doubt VY goes past 3, and Tenn seems to have a great situation for him in a vet and friend with a similar game and similar doubts for 1 more year under contract). Tenn also has a much better track record as a franchise and with drafting, they just do, and they have beaten the Texans more than their fair share of times. I don't want it to happen (last thing I want to see if VY to Tenn), but yes I think it is at least 50/50 Tenn drafts Young, and I do think if that happens he will be a thorn in the side of the Texans. I think when it is done he will be better than Carr, and better than the other QBs and Reggie Bush. I can choose a different word than haunting if that is the problem you have with what I am saying. (Of course I could be wrong)
I was reading on another board and someone posted the Sporting News mock draft. It had Vince falling all the way to the Rams at 11. I can't believe he would fall that far.
I like that new draft.... Although it would be painful for me because I love Cutler but can't stand titans
mateo.. I just read the article now that you mentioned it. Funny stuff, don't know how I missed it before with all the Cutler articles I've been reading. I've been hyping this guy up for a few years now.. Between him and the bachelor being a vandy doctor.. we've gotten a lot of free media attention lately.. skip bayless being a vandy grad and talking him up has helped too I think I might try and make the trip to Ann Arbor for our ESPN opener against Michigan in the fall
I'm going to try to make the NFL draft. The Jarvits Center is only 20 blocks south of my apt. Even a Vandy doctor could not drive me to watch one second of the bachelor. Instead, why not watch Vegas for your Vandy fix? The hot gal who's James Caan's daughter was a Pi Phi when I was undergrad. She was delicious then, too, altho a bit of a burnout.
mateo.. I in no way watched the bachelor, but I wouldn't be surprised if number of applications are up because of the show .. 18 year old girls watch that stuff Molly Simms? She's still plenty nice for my tastes
oh and that's awesome that you might go to the draft.... I assume his stock has gone up enough that he will be invited... will be good to have people there giving him some support.. congrats on the baby coming soon from the other thread
