Am I the only one who actually read the Y! blurb?

That means, in my mind, that they're offering us either their 1st rounder or Charlotte's 1st. They could make the deal "more intriguing" for us by ALSO offering Miami's late 1st rounder.

So to me, it sounds like they're considering offering us two 1st rounders for Courtney Lee. Not bad. Just hope one of them is Charlotte's pick, especially in wake of the SJax/Wallace trade rumors.

    Those scenarios sound reasonable too.

So we would end up having 3 1st rounders in the June draft?? Or I'm pretty sure it's going to be like 2016 or some crap....

    It depends on which draft pick they're offering, Chicago's 2011 1st or Charlotte's 2012 1st. Charlotte's draft pick is a 2012 1st rounder (top-14 protected in the 2012 Draft, top-12 protected in 2013, top-10 protected in 2014, top-8 protected in 2015 and unprotected in the 2016 Draft.)

Definitely want the 2012 CHA 1st rounder.

Also, I'd much rather have Omer Asik than the 2011 MIA 1st rounder. Frankly, Les can just buy a pick in the early second round for straight cash money that is probably only going to be 4-5 spots after where the MIA pick will be selected.

Again, I bet Morey is holding out for Asik + the 2012 CHA pick or no deal.

And I'd agree with him. Courtney Lee is most likely better than any player the Rockets could hope to get in the late first round, even with multiple selections available to them.

Agree. I want that Asik kid playing alongside Patterson and eventually T-Will in a rocket uniform. I think if this potential trade with Chicago happens, it will be in the final hour as both sides seem to be waiting to see who craters first.

I think you ask for that, but settle for Asik + Miami pick. Watching Asik and Patt paly together for a few mins this year could be fun.

The more i think about it, the less i want to trade Lee. I'd rather ship off Martin, Brooks, and Scola; and rebuild with Lee. His combination of size, defense, and shooting is not that easy to find. all those who say that Lee is a dime a dozen are ignoring how well rounded he is. If he got 36 minutes a night, people would see him as too valuable to trade for late 1st rounders or a 2nd round center.

He's repeating stuff people said several days ago. If Battier is traded, he'll go on a rant about how he was first.

I agree. Asik + CHA 1st rounder is the deal Morey is definitely holding out for. That may be too expensive for Chicago though.

I'm with you regarding really, realllly, wanting that Charlotte pick. It wouldn't pay dividends for a while (2015? 2016?), but Charlotte is rebuilding without a great team or ANY franchise players. I expect them to be bottom dwellers for a while.

Chicago's trade of James Johnson gave them some wiggle room under the cap that may keep them from dealing for Courtney Lee. I think their first preference is Courtney Lee, but their front office might decide the better deal is taking on someone like Anthony Parker for a trade exception (absorb him w/ newly found cap space) and a late 1st.

I'm pretty sure having watched Chicago moves, potentials, and development for last 10 years, I'm not clueless not "idiotic". But thanks for the rush to judgement on a difference in opinion.

I should've clarified my Pietrus is a Deng clone comment...I meant they're both build similarly, are athletic, long, and can shoot and score, however Deng has obviously developed alot more in the scoring department and is now flourishing under Thib. They were both projected coming out of college with similar futures. One slowly grew and continues to grow while the other has bumped around and enjoyed time on benches. In his Warriors days, he was closer to Deng then he is now.

And Gibson is not a true big man....he's 6'9, 220. Chicago uses him as a low post defender because he plays good on ball D, hustles, and continues to grow. And of course the lack of true big men on the team necessitates Gibson's usage as a center/pf. Ideally with Noah back, Gibson will be played in sets at 3/4, utilized for his jumper, rebounds, and on ball D.

How long you follow a team has no correlation to how much insight or intelligence you have regarding the roster or moves. Taj Gibson is absolutely not a SF. He's a PF that played some emergency C for them.

Yup Taj Gibson is definitely not a SF. I have never looked at him and said damn he can play SF.

Just because Taj Gibson is an undersized PF doesn't mean he can play SF. That's like saying Carl Landry can play SF.

The Charlotte 2012 first round pick is pretty much top-10 protected through 2015.

It really isn't that great of a pick up.

I don't believe I called him a SF at anypoint, I said Chicago hopes he turns into a Caron Butler....which was off as well, because I definitely don't remember Caron Butler as well as I thought I did (yeah I fact checked myself).

And agreed on the correlation not leading to causation. Guess it is the basic instant idiot defense, knee jerk reaction to conflicting comments, so I apologize, definitely guilty of that.

I do believe however that at some point in the very near future, they will use him as a 3/4 in sets with Rose, (insert 2 gaurd), Gibson, Boozer, Noah. His defense is an excellent asset when facing that wing option at 3, and his shot has improved from last season which allows some confidence in his ability to hit an open jumper if needed. Not fulltime 3 by any stretch of imagination though, agreed.

How in the heck is he an undersized PF?

His 6'9.75 with a massive 7'4 wingspan, his anything but undersized for a PF...
