Nailed it. I read this post and decided I didn't need to read another in this thread.

I might consider a 1st for Battier, a high 1st, not the Celts low 20 something pick. Lets face it, Battier's worth is in decline. May want to take what we can get now, before the only thing we can get is a 2nd rounder.

Both team issued press releases, stating it's actually a 1st round pick, that actually belongs to Miami that Toronto had been holding.

Does anybody know if they offered something of value or did they just call?

They're two different things, ya know?

Bima, the rox cant even get asik for lee straight up. The bulls are looking for that cheap, young wing player. If they dont get lee, they have butler and pietrus in their sights.

What's to say they're not playing hardball in an attempt to pry more pieces from Morey. Which side is going to fold first? Common logic would say Chicago. They have their sights set on a title this season, and Thibodeau's enamored with the possibility of adding Lee to the mix at the 2-guard.

They want Morey to believe that they have a back-up plan, but Chicago's been scouting Lee for weeks, and they are very high on him. They will eventually surrender Asik for him as the deadline approaches.

They actually have Mayo, Rip Hamilton, Anthony Parker, and others in their sights. Butler and Pietrus would do nothing for the Bulls. Pietrus is a Luol Deng clone, Caron Butler is what they hope Taj Gibson turns out to be. Neither is the shooting guard they're looking for.

And for the last time, Asik for Lee is not happening.

I hate them and how they're always trying to offer crap. If I was a GM I'd call about trading Chase Buddinger for Derrick Rose everyday just to piss them off. I don't want their garbage man Asik either.

You are right. the other poster clearly doesn't know what he's talking about ...which is a common theme in the BBS around the trade deadline.

The "Pietrus is a Luol Deng clone" comment was a dead giveaway.

Grizzlies have put a steep price tag on Mayo. They want a starting player and picks.

Ok, but what are they giving up for Mayo? I would suspect the asking price would be somewhat higher for Mayo (just a guess), so either Moery is asking for the world in a Lee deal or the Bulls are willing to give up a little more for Mayo then they would for Lee. Or this is all just a way to play the Rockets and Griz off each other to come down off their asking price thinking the bulls might go another way.....either way I am ready for Thursday to get here already!!!!!!!!!!

The Bulls in recent years has been known to try to hard and low ball a team. That's why they couldn't land Kobe or Paul Gasol. I don't think they will be offering anything useful.
