Thanks for the info, didn't know that.

If they do that's improvement, but still kind of Eh..

The Bobcats are one game out of the playoffs, and only a few picks ahead of our predicted draft spot. Also a mid first rounder isn't really that great in this years draft class.

Personally I would still keep Lee since he is only 25 and pretty much a bird in hand without gambling on an unknown who may work out or may not.

Just went back and looked at salary #s and contract years.

You can keep Brad Miller.....signed til 12/13 at 5mil in his final year??

Asik is comin it at a cool 1.8mil in his final season of 11/12.

Bulls have done an excellent job of utilizing cap space too so they have money this offseason to play as well. Right now they have 1.2 mil in cap room, with a total salary of 56.8 mil......Rockets are 15mil over the cap, at 73.7 mil.....I don't see Bulls messing this up by taking on unnecessary money for aging veterans.

The bobcats will fall down the standings if they trade away Stephen Jackson and Wallace who are reportedly shopping.

Having the title of "starting 2" means little....Bogans is sitting in Chicago with that title, and he's not deserving of it.

It's about the overall value you would bring to a team if you were traded there vs. value lost by that team in acquiring you.

Asik is more valuable to the bulls right now for his height, defense, and boards. The points gained by adding a Lee at 2, are easily already accounted for by Brewer/Korver/Bogans. Bulls are stacked at guard, Rose, Watson, Bogans, Korver, Brewer, Johnson, Lucas III.

They only have 4 big men, Noah, Thomas, Asik, Boozer. And Boozer shouldn't count because he plays no D, Thomas is old and possible injury could knock him out, and Scalabrine doesn't even count.

Thanks for the reply, good info.

Yeah, KG will dominate Boozer defensively. But I think Chicago's team defense has become so good I think it can potentially win that battle (Thibodeau is a special coach, and a coach of the year candidate imo, he probably won't win it due to his high talent roster though).

You maybe right about Davis. I just don't think Shaq is close to the same Shaq who could take advantage of a healthy Noah though.

We'll see, (I don't think Chicago beats Boston in a playoff series this year without a SG, but maybe perhaps next year) but that team is very good and it will be interesting to see how it plays out come playoff time.

I agree... That pick could easily be top 10 if not higher. They lose Wallace and Jackson to rebuild Possibly top 5.

Also if need be, Chicago can use their 1 mil in capspace to pick up any free agent veteran guards for cheap (Hughes, Finley, Stackhouse) when it comes close to post season. On the other hand, not too many remotely decent bigs available as free agents right now.

That leaves the draft or drafted players who haven't headed over yet like Fran Vazquez.

Just so you guys know, that Charlotte pick would NOT give us a lottery pick in 2012.

    2012 - Top 14 Protected
    2013 - Top 12 Protected
    2014 - Top 10 Protected
    2015 - Top 8 Protected
    2016 - Unprotected

It might have some nice value in 2015 and it would turn to gold in 2016...but not really incredible value before that.

    ah well..

I don't know about those SG free agents, they seem kind of old and suspect. I'm thinking those guys are most likely backups at this point in their careers, and perhaps no better than what Chicago already has.

Maybe one of them still have gas in the tank and the Bulls make it happen, or can do it with the team they have, we'll see.

I've been hearing local radio rumors about angling for OJ Mayo....now that'd be something.

Yes, O.J. Mayo would do the trick.

The only downside is he may ask for more money than Lee when his contract is up, and it's still undetermined if this is a fluke year or if he is a lesser player despite his higher draft pick position (right now Lee is playing better, with Mayo as the higher potential talent. But Mayo's stats have gotten worse in just about every category every year he's been in the league.)

Mayo brings higher risk/reward to the table. If they can get him for a similar price, I would easily understand the Bulls angling for him.

I would trade Martin and start Courtney Lee at the SG position. I think a team like the Wizards or Clippers would love to have him on their team, and we could get some talented young players in return, along with draft picks.

Just heard breaking news that Bulls backup guard/forward (recent draft pick and just recalled from the D-league) James Johnson has been traded to the Toronto Raptors for a 2nd round pick.

Bulls have begun making space for something.......

This. This, Sir, is the most sensible post since all that trade talk has heated up. I agree 100% with this and I hope Morey and Alexander do too. Repped.

Bulls have 13 players on their roster, 12 if no other player is involved.

More rumors flowing through Chicago of Battier coming to Chicago as well now.......or at least Chicago being in the Battier talks....keep in mind James Johnson was a guard/forward who was moved to T-Dot......
