Defintely, agreed there.

Sure he is a great rebounder and pretty good shotblocker but he still has a lot to mature on his defense in the post and plenty on his offensive game. If we get him cheap and he is going to be a backup center to play 15-25min a night, great.

But some people here a overrating him and if the Bulls want just Lee for him we shouldn't nudge.

Then they can have nothing. A first round pick for lee? That's insulting

Memphis Gets: Shane Battier

Houston Gets: Thabeet, Mayo, Asik, future 1st round picks (1 from Chicago/1 from Memphis)

The next Big FA class is 2012/2013 season.

While I'm not high on Thabeet, his contract isnt painful. He's got a team option in 2012-2013. I still think he's got upside. I think our coaching staff can mold this guy into a serviceable big man...possibly Samuel Dalembert v2.0.

Thabeet hasnt done bad in the D-League (13ppg/11rpg/3bpg), but we dont really know how that can translate into the NBA. He is playing behind Gasol and Randolph right now so there's not a lot of PT available for him there.

I like Asik's upside as well, and is also an expiring in 2012/2013.

If nothing else is available... If we can make a deal in which we get 2 future 1st round picks...this may be a trade worth exploring just to see what Thabeet can do for you. We're not gonna be contending for a title next year, but right now, i think we need to take a chance on something/someone.

Yup, that combines the two deals. I would see if we could add Brad Miller to the package that Chicago gets. He would add value to them, and we could offload some salary. Plus we are moving 3 players and taking back 3 players.

 

What about two 1st rounders? I'd like Asik but if we can get two 1st rounders and get another for Battier then we are talking about 5 1st rounders in the next two seasons. Those can become VERY useful in future trade discussions.

 

Houston walks away as clear winners there imo. Not that that's bad, heh, but trade gotta work for all sides.

They cant even get a Asik-Lee trade to happen but we want them to add first round pick too? Not happening. I'd highly consider the 2 first round picks for Lee as R934life said.

Memphis isnt moving Mayo. (According to Bucher) Gay is out. Likely to see the rumored trade of Thabeet/pick for Battier.

 

Yeah i just realized that with Yao still being part of the roster.. my "trade" put us at 16 players... we'd definitely have to make one more move to get us at 15. I just think Miller might be a bit more difficult to move.

Perhaps AB+Jeffries+a pick that we get from Memphis/Chicago deal to Charlotte for Wallace?

So in the end it would look like:

Charlotte gets: AB, Jeffries, 1st round pick
Chicago gets: Lee
Memphis gets: Battier
Houston: Thabeet, Asik, Wallace, Mayo, 1st round pick

I love the idea...but we arent getting all that from them. Lee for asik and a pick is reason able...but battier for mayo thabeet and a pick isnt happening

We could MAYBE do Lee and battier to memphis for thabeet and mayo.

Send mayo to chicago and get asik and a pick
