Possibility for a Brooks All-Star berth?

Couldn't find it in a search, if it's posted, lock it up.

    Kobe could miss All-Star Game

    By Mark J. Miller

Kobe BryantKobe Bryant(notes) had some prime seating to watch his teammates maul the San Antonio Spurs last night, 101-89. Of course, he couldn't get out onto the court last night because of a sprained ankle but he seemed to enjoy it all the same.

Still, that severely sprained ankle is bothering him. Right now, he can't even push off on the ankle, which "limits his ability to run and shoot." Just a few crucial little things.
So it is looking likely that he'll end up skipping the game against the Utah Jazz on Wednesday and the All-Star Game this weekend.

"I'm not an idiot. I'm not going to run through a wall just to run through a wall," he said. "Injury-wise, if I feel I can play through it, I will. If it can heal while I'm playing, I'll play. But if it's the type of injury that playing will make it worse, I won't play."

sadly i cant remember a game when there has been so many all-stars hurt

    i mean

    paul
    roy
and now possibly kobe out for the game?

then pierce could miss it from the east or elect to only play like 5 minutes or less with his foot issues

and ellis was hurt last night so that could prevent him from being selected as well (though his teams winning % would hurt him more than anything)

if aaron gets the nod good for him but this is kobe bryant we are talking about he probably will be ready to go by sunday the guy has an unbelievable threshold of pain and his body recovers very well

    a spot for AAron ??

But when you think about it.., man this is Kobe Bryant he loves playing basketball at those type of events, I don't think he'll be out, yet if he doesn't play AAron deserve it 100%, or Carl Landry.

I think he is going to sit. Kobe has his eyes on the prize. He has nothing to prove or experience in an All Star game that he hasn't already done. My bet is that he will welcome the rest and.

I doubt the league will agree Kobe to sit. I remember Kobe wanted to sit a couple of years ago, but the league doesn't allow. Thus, Kobe played several minutes. He is too popular to miss the allstar game. In addition, I hear kobe will assist Shannon Brown in the dunk competition.

If Kobe is out; Brooks is in. Ellis is injured. His only competition is Boozer.

What was the reason for Tracy not to be able to play in the ASG? I remember reading about it but don't remember what the reason was.

Basically, Charles Barkley said no and everyone jumped on that bandwagon.

Wouldn't Brooks also be competing with Billups for the spot?

    He lost the popular vote.

In 2007, 4 guys from the west got injured and Mehmet Okur made the all-star team. Also there was one player from the east who sat out.

I think Kobe will make a token appearance.
