Yes, and if we send Brooks, it probably means we an keep Budinger in the deal. If Billups really wants to leave as well, I'm sure Denvr can find another suitor for him.

Stay the same and get left behind. Change is necessary to evolve. Do not be afraid of change. It is inevitable.

So, what exactly is the same, since this team has been turned over a ton since the middle of last year.

Got to find out about this team before you make changes and shift gears.

Morey has spent 3 years building up a team oriented roster, if he switches now, it will take 2 or 3 years to get back to this point.

We just got rid of TMac and acquired Martin. It's not like the current roster has been together for 2 or 3 years. At most, we are losing half a season of "togetherness."

With so many off-season moves and Yao's return. The deck's already been reshuffled.

Yeah, so arguing that we're messing up some long-term chemistry makes no sense.

I agree, we don't KNOW what this team can do as assembled, but we can look at how their games fit in with each other.

This team has roles clearly defined, complimetary piece after piece...

If you bring in Melo, you probably need to turnover half the roster again just to fit his game.

Look, never mind...apparently I am on an island here...lol...

Team building in business or on the field is what I am referencing, but clearly not doing a good enough job to where people understand it.

Exactly. Yao has been out forever.

Brooks got significant minutes for the first time this past season. Lowry just finished his first full season with us. Budinger was a rookie.

DD is overrating the time it takes to build chemistry. The Celts won a ship right off the bat. The Lakers had no issues incorporating Gasol..same with Detroit and Sheed years ago..

Well, it's a tad unconvincing. You're arguing that we must not acquire superior players in order preserve the chemistry of a team that finished 8 games out of the playoffs last year.

Didn't Jon Barry once say it took him 2 years to learn Adelman's system?

    Without YAO MING !

This team is built around his talents, the pieces are all built for a read and react offense that has a talented center on the floor.

Everyone is a threat to score, everyone moves the ball, everyone moves their bodies.....

Now, you add in Melo, who doesn't move off the ball, doesn't move his body unless he has the ball, and you will understand what I am saying.

I am not saying it won't work, I am saying that if you get Melo, some of the guys on the team that are left over will not work well with that style.

Kevin Martin - look at his production with Tyreke Evans - same kind of hold the ball player as Melo.

Some players will not be effected and can play any style...Shane, Luis, Brooks...

And that is not accounting for Melo not having as much space in the lane anymore because Yao is in there.

It would be a massive switch in style, and more than just the guys going in the Melo trade would have to go....

I believe it would take 3 or 4 other trades over 2 years to get the right pieces to match up with Melo...and build around him.

Maybe that is the direction they will choose......I would choose they find out what this team can do first.

I am on that island with you. Well maybe not all the way. But I clearly believe we have a team that has amazing chemistry and will be alot bettr than 2 games above 500. I thought that with Yao coming back and have a limited role. ANd I am even more convinced after watching Yao and Hayes. We are solid at every position 2 deep. Our weakest second team player at any position is CBud and he is rising fast.

Did you watch Yao's workout. he was amazing. Yeah it's just a workout but he has more quickness than I have seen in him in a while. He looks stronger and quicker and seems more confident. Yeah he is just one injury away from the end of his career but right now he looks great and he has much time to get in game shape. My point is we have a solid team with lots of chemistry and and lots of talent. We have added the right type of players since the trade deadline. All of the whiners are gone.

I see much reason for optimism and success. And I need some convincing to believe Melo will make us better. We have plenty of scorers already. I want my three to shoot 3's and defend. I don't want a high flying scorer who entertains the fans. I am not convinced Melo won't be anymore than the return of Tmac. Tmac gave us lots to ooh and ah about but not much else in he way of playoff results. Of course I could be way wrong and that is why I am keeping a small boat so I can escape if I find the island is infested with Cannibals.

    OMR,

You know what else I saw with Yao, a confident player, a guy who knows he belongs on the floor, and understands what is expected of him.

Maybe he will become that leader we have always wanted....if that happens and he is healthy.....OOOOH baby !

Battier is a leader on this team as well. I think most players respect what he has to say. I don't have the video but we all saw how he was talking to the team before game 6 against the Lakers.

If Shane Battier is your starting small forward then that is not good enough starting 5 line up to win the championship at this point. Shane is getting older and he is not a threat offensively and defensively he's starting to get smoked but with Yao behind him that might change but offensive liabilities places him on a championship teams bench imo.

You're delusional. Morey wouldn't be so adamant about landing another star if this was the case.

We would get smoked by the Heat/Celts. We actually play decent against the Lakers but would still get beat in a 7 game series.

Bruce Bowen was at the top of his game defensive wise at the time Spurs were winning championships. Battier is just getting too old... Plus at this time this current Rockets team is not like that Spurs championship team. There was a better balance of guys in their starting five that could play great on both ends of the floor so they could afford to start a small forward like Bruce Bowen and he was automatic from 3 point land especially in the corners during their championships runs. Battier is inconsistent offensively and his 3 point percentage is dropping every year. Battier was acceptable as a starter but now... NOOO!
