Sheesh, you should put DD right under your comments, but unlike DD's which stand for DaDakota, your's should stand for Debbie Downer.

It seems like you are not a Rockets fan at all.

I'm not suggesting that the Nets are going to be the ones to make the trade. But a Nene/Melo for Favors/Murphy/Harris trade would work. Remember the Nets are a bit under the cap so they can absorb 3 mil or so.

Whether you know or not, the 2nd part seems reasonable enough given Favors's upside (and Williams'). I don't get putting Nene in this package though as Denver can probably fetch something for him individually for another team. Nets will have to also throw in essentially all of the many first rounders they own (incl those from other teams) for the next 3 or 4 years for this to be worth it for Den.

If Melo does go for Favors, Rockets should take a shot at Nene or Billups offering multiple picks and maybe a young player or two. What I know is Denver front office guy Bret Bearup was at the dork summitt and playing pickup games with bloggers ater it. So it seems Morey has at least a good working relationship with them.

The salaries work for this scenario:
    Melo + Nene
    for→
    Favors + Williams
    + Murphy + Humphries + May (expiring)

A trade with the Nets would be the Nuggets best case scenario. It's not their call though.

Nuggets can only try to extract the best deal from the teams Melo is willing to sign an extension with.

I think our hope would be that a 12 win team isn't one of Melo's chosen destinations. Yes, they have nice players, but something's just not working there.

Yup, and if you point this out, you're usually attacked and called names. If a guy like Melo is available, even if your chances of acquiring him are slim, you try to do whatever it takes to get him.

After that this is the lineup your looking at

    Harris/Farmar
    Morrow/Ross
    Melo/Outlaw
    Nene/James
    Lopez/Petro

That would get to the playoffs in the East but still wouldn't challenge the Heat or Orland or even Boston for that matter.

somene in this forum thought of a trade for both our young pf, hill and patterson, chase, our 2011 swap with NY, our NY 2012 pick and our 2013 for melo and birdman

we are in full win now mode if we do this trade. We lose our promising young prospects but get a veteran PF defender in anderson and our main target melo AND we don't lose any key contributors except battier, who they can buyout. What do you guys think?

    Brooks/lowry/
    martin/lee
    Melo/battier(if bought out)
    Scola/birdman
    Yao/Miller

We are still 2 deep in every position this way.

I Like this scenario very much. It leaves us with 3 legitimate 7 footers. We would also keep Martin and Brooks. Only problem is signing Brooks next offseason, but if we acquire Melo we are "all-in" and we will probably stop worrying about the luxury tax.

LOL at the Knicks fans that keeping bringing up the " Well Yao is injured most of the time anyways, why would Melo want to play there?" card.

Well, the dude you just signed for the Max aint Mr. Durable either.

These are the games that Amare has missed so far

In his 8 seasons in the league he has missed a total of 140 games.

In comparison in the same 8 seasons, Yao has missed 175 games.

Not much of a difference, and you also have to take account that Amare's knee's are suspect and a ticking time bomb. Why else would Phoenix want to waive the physical when we tried to have Amare take one at the deadline?

That doesn't even take account to the fact that we still have the superior front office and supporting cast.

cxbby, nene and carmello=28m. What is 25% of that +100k if youre over the cap. Just of the top of my head, youre lookingat 21m right? Favors, willams and murphy after his 30 days is right at 17m and some chang. Boone equals another 3m which puts them at 20m. So again, whats so wrong about what i said? If your euphoria over what the rockets might can offer, then so be it,thats your thing. I'm telling you about the carrot and denver hitting the reset button.

CH, i agree about trading nene seperate, but from what i'm being told, the nets really like the thought of nene and lopez as kinda like duncan/robinson at 4/5. From denvers side, they would have 11m in murphy,17m in martin,6m in smith,2.9m in boone as expirings. Thats more than enough firepower to make other deals to get under the lux tax.

Lol don't tell them that. Amare >> Yao

I laughed when one of them were talking about how the Rockets are the king of lottery...I mean really? When is the last time that team even made the playoffs?

I consider their fans a lost cause, it seems most of them feel entitled to Carmelo or something.

I may need an experts' opinion on this....but shouldn't GMs know not to offer him the $20+ mil he could get in Denver?

Wouldnt Bosh, Wade, and Lebron signing for less money ruin the chances of any player with arguibly less talent demandiing more money than them?

If we get him it's a win-win....if he doesnt work out we can always trade him while he's still the most wanted that's available (allegedly)

I've noticed that you find ways to diss Yao in almost every single one of your posts yet your sig on the other hand says other wise.

If you hate Yao so much, change your sig.
