Tough to read - it's also been said Denver "asked for the moon", which would be believable seeing as they ironed out a very good deal (Favors, 2 firsts, AK47) and proceeded to shop it around the league like it was a public auction.

Denver's looking for the type of offer that would have pried him from them a year ago....and don't get that his price has plummeted.

And with it becoming clearer by the day that Carmelo only has interest in the Knicks, no one's dumb enough to send a kings ransom for a rental.

Experience in the front office is important during a situation like this, and the young men now running the Denver organization are showing their lack of it.

When a player requests a trade, the team's leverage evaporates to a degree. Add to that Carmelo making it fairly clear he doesn't want to sign an extension with anyone but the Knicks...

I'm getting the distict feeling that Melo will be Nugget for the 10-11 season.

    From Chris Sheridan's twitter...

"Source tells me the NY Knicks have a deal available to acquire a No. 1 draft pick in 2011 for use in a C. Anthony trade, if talks revived."

Doubt Cuban has a high enough #1 to satisfy Denver.

I hope it's Randolph or Galo... not so much Chandler. DM has a right to be picky if it's his pick that is the lynch pin in NY getting Anthony.

I'd prefer to see Randolph in Rocket red by start of the season. ;)

Why do you think it's Houston?

Anyhow, just one of those feelings. Who knows, could be wrong. Like I said, we'll see.

Also keep in mind these other teams have multiple 1st round picks(to trade if they wish) as well:

Denver already said they wanted nobody from the Knicks roster so a three team deal is brewing. Its just a rumor just kick back and see whats happening later.

I also took a look at the Denver forum and they are saying that there are currently no references to Melo anywhere on their forum. No pictures or even advertisements of his twitter account. Like he never existed.

Randolph is going to be a special player his game is similar to Teshuan Prince/Lamar Odom and seems to be the ideal fit for a 3/4 position imo. He can certainly clear up some weaknesses in the line-up with his raw tallent and size. He's only 21 and is almost 7ft and has put on some strength this offseason. This guy will be a beast and can be groomed behind Scola. He has the mentality to be a defensive presence and can run the floor and even controll the ball some. If Houston can snatch him up with 2 picks it will be a good move imo.

At the same time, what's a NY pick worth with Melo & Stat on the roster for the full season?

Depends on who from the Knicks goes in a Melo trade. Gallo and Randolph are very talented pieces and I think losing them would offset a good chunk of the value that Melo brings them. Depends also on how healthy you expect Stoudemire to be.

In any case, I still rather have NY's pick (with Melo on board, but without Gallo/AR) than Dallas' pick. Dallas has a history of winning 50+ games year after year, NY, on the other hand, has a history of losing no matter who is in uniform (Just a feeling that disaster will happen to this team, don't know how it will happen, but it just will. Like a curse).
