Don't know if this dude is legit but he seems to be a Nets insider and works for WFAN 660 AM.

Because I think PG is a position with the least amount of decline due to age. Look at Nash and Kidd, both going strong well into thier late thirties.

I like Billups because everywhere he goes, he wins. He takes his teams to the next level. He is like a combination of Brooks and Lowry.

He is a good shooter so he can play off Yao...he draws alot of fouls, which meshes well with Yao/Martin.....and finally he is an upgrade defensively. I think right now, in our starting lineup, he is an upgrade to Brooks. I wouldnt give up Brooks to get him, but I would send him to the second unit.

Try two picks not just one, but I think that's a deal I want done now. How do the salaries even work for that though? I don't claim to be an expert in those affairs.

You'd have to match salaries. That deal would recquire expirings. Jeffries and/or Battier.

    Hey guys,

I've been dropping in and out, not because I'm expecting Melo anymore, but because I don't want him to go to NY this season or next (at least while we hold the picks).

That said, I'm seeing Iggy's name alot. Has there been any inkling of rumors that he's being shopped (aside from for Melo), or that Houston is interested?

If they simply want to dump salary, we could offer young players in Hill and Budinger and Jefferies expiring to make the salaries work (those three for Iggy work on the trade machine). Throw in some picks to sweeten the deal.

Shores up the roster, and leaves us extremely deep at every position (starting quality 1-2 at each spot).

    Brooks/Lowry/Smith
    Martin/Lee/Taylor
    Iguodala/Battier
    Scola/Hayes/Patterson
    Yao/Miller

All the Iggy talk has been wishful thinking from the posters on the board. There has been no talk or rumors that Philly is shopping AI, or that we are aggressively pursuing him.

I think Iggy would look great in a Rockets uniform. Despite being a guy that's not a very offensively efficient player or an adept outside shooter, I think he has an excellent skill set and could fit in if he were to modify his style of play.

I'm just not sure how motivated Philly is to move him or how motivated we are to go after him... right now. Morey wants a superstar, and Iggy is not that. Since he's highly paid and on a team that won't be contending for a while, he would be a candidate to be moved at some point. I just don't think he'll be on our radar until we've exhausted every opportunity to acquire what DM deems a "superstar."

All of the above is, of course, my opinion.

Unsticky this garbage. If he really wanted to be a Rocket, he'd be a Rocket by now. He obviously wants to be a Knick.

I really don't know why having one thread stickied upsets so many people.

It seems to be that it wasn't Melo himself who took us out of the running, but Morey, his offers just didn't come anywhere near NJ or what Denver wanted out of Chicago, similar to NY really, except NY had tons of media outlets to keep mentioning them even though they were out pretty much as soon as it started.
