I thought Scola couldn't be traded until December. Am I misinformed?

 

I think i read somewhere that it's actually October 14th, 3 months after he signed his contract.

if i recall correctly, carl landry was traded just a short while after his bobble head was released.

That is PRECISELY the types of deals Morey would do, he put a price on acquiring Melo and would not bid against others.

Morey is a very good GM, while people on here would have given away our better players, Morey knows better.

We are lucky he is our GM.

And if those trade offers are correct, he values exactly the same players I do...Martin, Brooks, CBud....

He is, but at the age of 30, and with all the other PFs we had on the roster, he is one that would not hurt as bad as losing someone like Brooks or Martin would.

I love Scola, and am happy we are going forward as is.....I have been saying FOREVER, let's see what this team can do, and then make an INFORMED decision at the trade deadline or in the draft next year.

It has never, NEVER been about this year, it is about Next year, when Yao's contract comes off the books.

Can we contend if Yao is healthy, yes...heck yes.....if he is not healthy, then of course not...but Melo would not make us a contender either.....

So, I am ecstatic that Morey is taking his time and the right approach.

What we have all learned this offseason is that DD is content with mediocrity.

 

No, I am content with finding out where our strengths and weaknesses are as a team BEFORE making a move.

Assid, I know you wanted Melo, but seriously getting all jacked up when there is very little chance for getting someone will leave you dissappointed.

I am confident you will come around as the team gels and starts beating teams that others on here think we can't compete with......

Team beats individual....this team is ready.

You couldn't have believed we had more than outside shot of getting him anyways. I could have told you when he apparently 'preferred the rockets over the knicks' that we probably weren't going to get him.

 

It was several factors but screw it!

I'm over him and like Swizz Beatz said, " It's on to the next one!"

 

Relax. It's not over yet.

We're not desperate anyways. Maybe we'll be able to get another player while giving up considerably less down the line.

 

if morey were to somehow swoop in now and make a last minute deal for melo, i have a feeling that the rush of blood back up to ASidd's skull would make it explode :grin:

 

Im waiting for my buddy to call me back and give me another update....he is the one who told me it was a 3 team deal etc...ill post in here what he comes back with...his last message to me today was that not much had changed from the last time I spoke w him
