Look man. Teams are talking, teams are blowing smoke. People have opinions on the players and the deals. No need to post the same thing repeatedly unless something actually new comes up. It simply does not move the discussion forward.

Sorry, I will try not to. My bad!

Just hope this thing gets done by this weekend because I can't concentrate on school or work right now!

I think I'm taking things too far, but that's just me.

I'm talking about what Melo + agents would be telling Denver.

The mechanics of the trades aren't really his concern.

Daryl Morey follows 152 people on twitter. He only follows 1 NBA player who is not a Rocket. That person would be...

    Carmelo

    Keyword, "used" too.

Why would he follow Carmelo of all people?

    Coincidence?

    I think not!

I totally forgot Billy King was GM of the Nets now - making it amazing that they haven't sent over Lopez, Favors, and Murphy already.

Must be busy ironing out a 4 year, $45M deal for Sean May.

Denver has to be reeling - the market is harsh when a player takes all leverage away like this. They have to drop him, their season is FUBAR even if they hold onto him, and everyone knows it. Hey, price for LeBron was a TE and a couple lousy firsts.

If I were Morey, I'd try and money launder Jeffries' $7M expiring to Cleveland or Toronto by shipping out Hill, a 2nd rd pick, and cash as a side deal (for Ryan Hollins, Julian Wright, or some other filler that matches). A $7M TE as well as a separate $4M TE for Andersen swap would give Denver $11M in immediate saving, and get them under the tax line in what will be a disastrous year for them no matter what. Much more valuable than paying an expiring deal player at dollar-for-dollar tax as they miss the playoffs.

Keep Martin, send Battier, Brooks, and the Knicks picks. Or some other combination along with the above TEs.

They were against a Deng trade because they don't want to eat salary. This would side step that in a big way.

I THINK ...we prob are a last resort. But doesnt mean we wont get him. NYK doesnt have assets...New Jersey is our main competition i think. They can find some pkg of assets to make it work... but if they wont trade favors or lopez then they are off the list...lastly chicago. I am not sure why Denever would allow them to include deng but maybe they will take him to get noah...but prob is even if they are dealt noah he is a free agent...you think he will want to resign in denver with no melo?

For some reason I see us as a last resort but that will most defintely happen.

Galinari, Randolph, and Cap relief. That is the most NY can offer Denver. Denver wants a pick instead of one of those guys?? NY has to try to trade Galinari or Randolph for a first round pick. What bad non-lottery teams are out there that have a potential lottery pick to trade for either Randolph or Galinari?

Does everyone realize that Golden State's pick is lottery protected that New Jersey owns?

If New Jersey sends out Favors, is Melo going to be willing to hang out a couple seasons in NY waiting for them to be competitive? If NJ doesn't include Favors, where are they going to get the assets to send Denver? Are they going to get a potential lottery pick for Devin Harris?

Simply put, Denver has two basic choices. Send Melo to NY or NJ for crap. Or send Melo to Houston for the best combination of talent and the best first round pick available. I just don't think Melo is going to go hang out in NJ for a couple seasons waiting for them to become competitive. If Favors is gone, that leaves him and Lopez floating the boat by themselves up there. That is a non-playoff team.

Melo really doesn't want NJ. Melo wants either LA or Houston.

The other factor here is the pending lockout. Melo wants to compete this season. He doesn't want to take this season as a building season followed by a lockout that may cost the NBA a whole season and likely a good chunk of a season and then be on a rebuilding team after that.

Melo is trying to get to Houston or LA. And when I say LA, I mean the Lakers. Don't see anything there that makes sense for Denver. I suppose they could move Bynum and Denver run the twin towers with Bynum and Nene at PF. Don't think Denver is interested in that.

Guys, Denver is investigating all the possibilities before they get to Morey. They know Morey has a set price, a set value on Melo, that he is willing to pay and that is it. They probably already know the price and they are trying to figure out how to beat it. Morey already knows they can't.

It's going to come down to does Melo want to play in Houston and will he sign the extension. Watch.

I've come to the conclusion that Morey has basically told Denver look here is what we have to offer, if you can't workout a deal with NJ/Chi/NY hit us up and we can discuss. I think Morey would LOVE Melo on the team but is also aware that the Knicks are probably not getting him without the Rox help and Chicago is not going to part ways with Noah. That would leave NJ and he is probably gambling that Melo will not want to start over again with a young team and have VERY little chance of winning big anytime soon.
