I can Walsh taking back NY the '12 pick and '11 swap for Magic Randolph and sending it to Denver if that is what it will take to get Melo to the Knicks.

    tradeId=27mdy2f3 way trade

    Brooks/Lowry
    Martin/Lee/Taylor
    Battier/Budinger/Jeffries
    Scola/Randolph/Hill/Pat
    Yao/Miller/Hayes

then swap Jeffries + Hill for an opportunistic upgrade come Feb deadline.

    No!!! Anybody but New York!!!!

That also directly contradicts the article posted in the OP. Maybe Melo's been going back and forth between teams.

If New York's evil plan succeeds, they'll have their own big three in Paul, Anthony, and Amare and a bunch of scrubs. At least Eastern Conference Finals will be entertaining for a decade, if not the regular season. Also, Walsh won't look so dumb for the Morey trade afterall.

Except I can't see Denver accepting a deal like that. Just seems lacking a player or two compared to what other offers could be. Knicks are always going to think they are #1 on everyones list. IE lebron........

I didnt even notice in the Yahoo! article I posted  but you could be onto something about a 3 way trade that would land him in NY or Chicago(not sure about all the specifics of who goes where and whether or not that is true but you could be right on the 3 way trade thing).

Maybe you should stop and save yourself the embarassment. You've brought a Homer Simpsonesque style to wannabe internet sportscasting. Congrats on that Dohbius honor......

Here's the thing: If Gallo and Randolph are really gonna be studs, maybe getting Melo while losing both of them (plus other things, perhaps) won't benefit the Knicks that much in terms of actual game play, though it does make them more marketable in NY.

Personally, I don't know what AR brings (high upside, but also has downside... Nelly screwed with the kid so much it's hard to tell), but Gallo was very productive and I think a pretty special player-- huge guy with a sweet shot + a versatile game. Maybe like a cross been Rashard Lewis and Hedo with better hops?

Anyhow, I'd take Gallo in a heardbeat and give up good assets for the guy.

    Seriously,

I don't get it. The only teams that can offer an attractive trade offer and still have a good roster left over are the Rockets and Bulls. The Bulls need to give up Noah, but they are about to sign him to an extension.

The deals that NJ and NY are offering will leave nothing left. Melo would be in a worse situation than his current one in Denver.

funny thing is that the Knicks may be saying the same thing to themselves....bc like u said, giving up those guys for Melo may not make them any more ready to compete with Mia, Chic, Bost or Orl...but it makes them, and Melo, more marketable...they may be thinking that Randolphs highest value will be before he gets on the court and does something to bring down his value

So it does look like it can/will be a 3 team trade should something happen.(At least with NY and NJ should he end up with one of those teams)

btw....the other thing my friend mentioned (and we argued about this based on the reports i heard on espn etc) was that he said that Melo would NOT sign an extension in NJ or Hou....now...whether he got this from the same source that the above article did is unbeknownst to me...but it certainly isnt giving me warm fuzzies either

Interesting. Many possible interpretations, one is that Carmelo prefers NY and CHI, likely finds HOU and NJ acceptable, but is posturing to make Denver push harder to go with NY and CHI first.

Meanwhile, Denver is probably pushing either the best possible deal, regardless of location. The only way NY gets it done is probably by including both Gallo and Randolph, which they don't want to do.

Thanks to BSPN! They will milk on this Melo-drama for as long as it would last. It's a damn reality show they're running. And to sell and get viewers, you need the big marketable cities. Hence, NY and Chicago.

    That's what confuses me too.

There was the rumor that Melo wouldn't sign with NJ, and maybe that's why.

As for the Knicks...he says he still wants to be there. Other than the NY Market, I don't know why we would want to be there. Like you said, they are going to have to give up the only talent that have, other than Amare(and who knows how his knees will hold up/how well he can play without Steve Nash), and their GM is still recovering from Morey rape. NY will not contend for a title with Carmelo as long is he is there, unless they do some serious remodeling.

Lala's career > Melo's career, if Melo wants sexy time with his tranny wife.
