You wouldn't want Anthony playing on Lebron? really?

Heck yeah! Keep Martin and Brooks to go with Carmelo Anthony then we have starting centers of Dampier and Miller two huge guys at 7 foot. We still have...

    Dampier/Miller
    Scola/Hayes
    Anthony/Battier
    Martin/Lee
    Brooks/ Lowry

Thats Championship stuff too to consider if they want Yao instead of Martin or Brooks.

Yes, that lineup would be awesome and would rival the Lakers' lineup. Only two problems:

    (1) No way Denver does that deal.

    (2) No way Les Alexander does that deal.

    (3) No way Melo will agree to sign an extension.

Yeah I know. Just thinking out loud.

I see Yao retiring a Rocket, BTW.

I wouldn't be suprised if we hang #11 in the rafters someday.

I actually think that Melo is more drawn to the Rockets' coaching (Adelman) and management (Morey) than he is drawn to playing with Yao. Of course, the Rockets need to have talent, as well. Being able to play with Brooks, Martin, Scola and Nene, along with a great bench, would outweigh playing with Yao and a lesser roster.

That is, if Houston is even REALLY on Melo's "extension list".

One problem tho, Melo doesn't want to sign an extension with the Nets.

I just feel that New Jersey scenario is a fantasy to me. They would offer up Favors and another starter? Then Carmelo Anthony would resign with them or help them win? I dont think. Sounds too far fetched to me. New Jersey is in it if they give up draft picks, Favors and Brook Lopez. They wont do that and Anthony doesnt to go there if too much is taken off of a bare team already. Thats fantasy. Nuggets and Rockets make sense and always has. Hope they work it out before Morey realizes this and tries to lowball them on his offer once that New Jersey deal becomes evident its a pie in the sky for both parties. Then all deals go down offered by the deadline. Then? What if Carmelo gets hurt and he cant get traded and they lose him for nothing anyways? Just seems unrealistic to me for any other team. I guess this whole keep him out of the West thing has alot of weight in their minds? I dont know why?

Really? Karl is a great coach too. And, Denver's boss is rich, and willing to spend more money than Les.

From all the information that I have read, I feel that the most important things for Melo are fame and win (you can say that is one way to acquire fame). This is why he wants to play for NY and Houston. NY is the biggest market in US, and because of Yao, Houston is the biggest market in the world. Plus, the rockets is a good team, and has potential to win the title if he can join the team.

I wonder if I see Yao retiring as a Rocket at the end of his current contract.

Either way, he's gonna retire a Rocket. Whether it be now, tomorrow, 2 weeks, 2 months, after this season, in 2 years.

Ha, you're right. I mean, can you prove that he's not going to sign an extension with NJ?
