I've been saying since the trade went down, no.

And most Rockets experts with the team along with Morey have been saying this as well. Morey isn't stupid enough to think, that Jefferies or Hill will suddenly be able to make up for the deficit of post players we now have and push us back into the race. I am thinking since we started the rut of losses in 2010, Morey and Les figured the towel had to be thrown on the playoff race and now we are just trying to end the season respectably and with a good idea of who we will get minutes or start the next season.

If Kevin Martin gets injured next season then it will be highway robbery for Sac.

Will losing to the Lakers in consecutive post seasons put the same kind of fear* we had for Utah after doing the same? Putting some kind of stigma about facing them in 2010-2011?

*the word fear being incorrectly used, but I can't think of the right word. While I don't think anyone had any fear about playing Utah in the 2009 playoffs, I am pretty sure there was always some bit of doubt about beating them in a series, be it refs, injuries, or outplaying.

There are so many pieces and contingencies to that trade, that we won't know who "won" the trade for years, even if Martin does get injured next season.

Kenny Smith helped us win 2 championships, so I will be kind to him, to wit:

When Kenny speaks, everybody IQ scores goes down by 10 points. When Charles speaks, it is time to apply for social security disability - severe mental impairments.

Yeah, it's awful. Chuck is entertaining, but he doesn't have a clue. It's hard to believe those two had such successful careers in the NBA.

I'm surprised they actually wasted so much time on the rockets when they only had 5 minutes to talk about the Western Conference..

I dont think this trade will benefit nearly as much this season as its going to next season. One of our wings, either battier, ariza, or bud(least likely) will be traded probably along with scola and either our NY picks or lowry for an elite scoring forward like bosh or stoudemire. if we didnt have yao coming back i wouldnt like this trade because it leaves us with almost no low post scoring, but the truth is that with yao, chuck, jeffries and hill(another year developed) coming back we can make that trade and truly have a scoring threat at every position.

    brooks/lowry
    kmart/Jermaine taylor
    battier or ariza/ cbud
amare or bosh/ jeffries or hill
    yao/ amare or bosh/ chuck/ david andersen

we are set up to bring another big 3 to houston next season..

Truth be told, I quit watching them a long time ago. I have to preserve whatever little brain cells I have left.
