Kam, you still want Detroit in OOTP? We have started back up now and are in the middle of the 2007 season.
DEFINITELY a live draft. The time is posted in the big yellow box on the league page. If anyone can't make the time you gotta tell me right away because the good times go fast! I think the time that is currently set is a good time to have it because it's after the exhibition season so we'll avoid drafting an injured player and we'll be able to judge players progress.
Hey why don't we just do the draft in this Forum? We can plan a couple of weeks before the season to do it so we have enough time. It's a lot easier than trying to coordinate everyone's schedule, and we still have plenty of time to do the draft...
Because that would take forever and ever and ever and it'd be a lot more of a hassle....everyone should just say if Sun Mar 28 7:00pm CST, which is 31 days, 1 hour, and 29 minutes from now is good for them. Ummm, expect the draft to take around 2 1/2+ hours, but chances are you rookies won't know as much as myself and since yall won't know who to take in the last 5 or so rounds, you can leave before the last several rounds are over. By the way, this is who the best fantasy baseball league on this forum consists of.... Let me put it this way. I started this thread, and I don't if I can commit myself to a date a month from now with any certainty. If we do it in the Forum, but it will actually finish at the same time, if not sooner.

Sunday March 28 @ 7PM. Let us know if sunday nights aren't usually a good time for you. If for some reason I can't make the draft time, I have full confidence that the time I took to pre-set my player rankings will be more than adequate to draft a competetive team. As I said, my team will probably win the whole thing sin problemas. Viva los beisbolistas!
It's so much less of a hassle to do it online through Yahoo. Say we did do it on here and finished it before a month from now, that would still take days upon weeks to complete the whole thing while it would still take just a few hours on Yahoo. So you could say we'd have our teams before then, but it would take a WHOLE LOT longer.
You're ignoring the inherent advantage to doing it on the BBS. That is, you don't have to coordinate 12 schedules to commit to a 4-5 hour block on the exact time and day. Not everyone will be able to do that, and what'll end up happening is someone else will have to draft for them, which will result in an unbalanced league.
Well first everyone should reply to me on how that draft time works for them - then we should have this arguement haha..... I don't know about you, but it'd annoy the crap outa me if after I make a pick, I gotta wait days for someone to check back on the BBS before I can make another. To those of you in the league, please check the message board, I got an important question on it.
That's why you enforce a draft clock. If someone doesn't make their pick within the appropriate time, the select the best available player based on the overall Yahoo rankings. I'm not making this system up, it's commonly used.
