Uh I don't really understand any of the points this guy made. 1) Howard works best with a stretch 4 *Did he win a ring with Rashard Lewis or Hedo? No? So how can you even say that we should be pairing Howard with some wimpy stretch 4? Guys like Hedo are good for the regular season, but become trash once the playoffs start. He said Lewis and Hedo combined for 300+ in the regular season, how many did they make in the playoffs? Asik on the squad gives you 48 mins of elite paint protection, which IMHO is more valuable both in the regular season and in the playoffs than yet another stretch 4. 2) Asik will start stealing minutes from Howard, and Howard will throw tantrums -LOLwut? Howard when healthy is the 2nd best player in the league, hell last year when he was injured he was still better than Asik. Plus, Howard wants a good backup around, Gortat gave him minutes to rest and allowed him to best on the court. 3) Flipping him for the right piece -I think it goes to show that the author can't even think of one good piece to flip Asik for. He's too valuable to flip for a non franchise player, but he's too bad to get a franchise player. This is why Asik should stay on the squad, we shouldn't flip him just for the sake of it.
Cut this negative *****. Dwight is one of the best players in the league. Asik was a backup center before he signed with us. That's why we didn't "roll out the red carpet" for him.
