it's actually one of the more poorly written and uniformed articles i've seen come out of yahoo. very surprising. The #2 reason to get rid of Asik is that he's a fan favorite and could end up undermining Dwight's psyche and stealing minutes? What the hell is that crap?

I love Asik for all the reasons you mentioned, but seriously...

If you have the chance to get the guy who led the league in rebounding on a bad season??? you pass him because you have Asik??? Really??

Asik is going to get his chance sooner than later, and will have a long and successful career...sadly this temporary gig of being a back up will just be one year or less(barring a midseason trade)...I love Asik as a player, but if you had to compare the upgrade at the position..."it would be like if we swapped a Parsons for Lebron"
Dwight is a game changer for the Houston Rockets...Asik and Dalembert were our gap fillers between Yao and Dwight

Dwight has said he want to play with Asik.

It would be very diva-ish even for Howard to start whining about Asik stealing his minutes after the fact.

Complete conjecture on the writer's part. Even CF'ers here who like drama havent considered that as a possibility, some "center controversy"

Probably an OKC fan. OKC is an Asik away from a championship.

Honestly this report is just all opinion obviously but the guy does make some solid points. Right now Howard should get 34-36 minutes and Asik coming in is a great backup but a wasted talent. Now their is times when Asik and Howard could be on the floor together but it's also true Howard does better with people who spread the floor.

I think it would be wise to trade Asik while he looks nice. Him and some other players could land us a pretty good PF. I love Asik but no reason for a starting center to get horrible minutes and hardly be an impact for our team.

This is annoying. It is a Howard hate fest disguised as a Asik column.

What is the author trying to imply here?

Since Howard is such a loser and whinner while Omer Asik is a competitor, Rockets should ship out Asik?

Just not sure who the target audience is for this article. The casual fan wouldn't find it or bother to read it, and it adds absolutely nothing insightful or new to interest the more hardcore fan.

OP's article is from the Yahoo! Contributor Network. It's like Bleacher report, ie a fan blog. Anyone can post these up.

I agree. That idea is absurd. The narrative of Dwight's fragile psyche is out of control. You'd think he was Royce White.

Can we get back to the real topic here? This guy was suspended from Bleacher Report for a well-written article. See the excerpt below

I hope Asik thinks about it and says he wants to stay but if he leaves for a nice PF that make us even dangerous then im good with that too he showed hes a starter

I don't know about the Wizards but the Grizzlies lack of a constant perimeter threat hurt them in the playoffs, I doubt Asik will develop into a stretch-5:cool: Also Dwight's so called fragile mentality is so overblown, getting rid of Asik will not make life easier for Dwight. It's hard to play at full force as a big if you are worried you will get in foul trouble and the backup at your position is weak.

Isn't this M. De Moor the same guy who posted that article on br "5 point guard options for the rockets not named jeremy lin" with that ugly photo of lin. He has a unique way of expressing himself... describing Asik...fell in love, anything better than...followed by negatives obvious foul, disbelief, begrudgingly, drag his bones. Also he chooses facts that support his conclusions and often psycho analyzes players. But if you listen to Skip Bayless(craziest sports analyst I know) as often as I do it's all fine, as long as the stories are entertaining. Anyways hope he gets better, because you can feel his passion to be a writer.

Long article with nothing new to the table.

<<<<Don't let anything Morey says about Houston's roster get to your head. He's paid to put the best team possible on the court, and with Howard in town, flipping Asik for another solid piece is the right move.>>>>

    Duh!!

    No one out there worth s h ! t.
