Melo made the right play. Even Jeffries made the right play by passing it to a cutting, wide open Bill Walker. He just telegraphed it so badly that KG had no trouble intercepting it.

Jeffries had more than enough time to execute a fake and shovel it off to Walker. You just don't make simple passes like that around someone like KG.

There was enough time for Melo to pass the ball, for jeffries to pass the ball and for KG to steal the ball. If he was standing in the 3 pt line is it impossible for him to take a few steps into the paint and go for the higher percentage shot? You don't need stats to know not to trust Jeffries with the ball on a game deciding possession, you just have to watch him play a couple of times to come to that conclusion. Jeffries wasn't open, how could he be open when he plays the same position as KG? KG closing in doesn't just happen; it ALWAYS happens. Melo should have thought of that before he goes letting Jeffries make the game winning shot.

More importantly Melo took 8 3 pointers that game, so its not like he realizes he sucks at 3s. He just choked, plain and simple.

Glen Davis was guarding Jeffries. He left him to double team Melo, leaving Jeffries open for a split second. KG rotated but was slow enough to give Jeffries a shot at handing a proper pass to Walker for the lay up. That's still a better shot than Melo trying to get around both pierce and big baby with ray Allen just a few steps away.

Were there really no other options available on the bench over 0-11 Walker and Offensive Juggernaut Jeffries?

Anybody criticizing Melo for making that pass to Jeffries probably just hates Melo in the first place. Jeffries just hit a shot to give the Knicks lead the previous possession. Melo is doubled and at a quick glance Jeffries is wide open so of course he is going to pass him the ball.

It's not his fault Jeffries got scared and folded under pressure. Melo played a great game with two key players out.

You just whine about Melo for the sake of ****ing whining. You bring up that he took 8 3's like he was 1-8 Melo. Hit hit 4 of them which means he shot 50% from 3 that game. So what exactly is wrong with that?

In fact since getting traded to NY Melo is shooting 42% from 3. The more you post on this board the more you continue to type out of your ass.

I am no fan of Melo. I didn't even want him to be a Rocket. But I concur. Saying that he shouldn't have passed the ball is just blind hating.

If he shot it, the same people would criticize him for being selfish, ignoring teammates, which I generally agree with this assessment. In other words, the pass was the right play which he normally wouldn't do.

Did you even watch the game? Once Melo got his hands on the ball he had 3 Celtics orbiting him. There was no way he could have "take[n] a few steps into the paint and go for a higher percentage shot". In fact, between the 3 point line and the paint is, what, at least 7 feet of space?

I'm pretty sure Jeffries was the reason why the Knicks were up two possessions earlier. But I digress.

Again, did you even watch the game? That pass by Anthony was a good pass to an open teammate. Your love of KG's defense is laughable considering the fact that KG wasn't even guarding Jeffries at the beginning of the play.

As Shaud eloquently pointed out, tThe more you post on this board the more you continue to type out of your ass. " Just because Anthony was 50% from 3s that night, you expect him to take a 3 pointer (a foot behind the 3 point line nonetheless) over Paul Pierce AND Ray Allen? Melo would have been crucified for that shot.

You guys have short memories if you don't think Tmac cares about winning. He poured his heart and soul into this Utah series

Its not even about that play of giving it to Jeffries thats questionable. imo that was the correct call, its his attitude after the game that raises questions to me.

It was fun,” ‘Melo said late Tuesday. Whats so fun about loosing? Kobe, MJ you would never even hear that from Tmac.

His reaction as to why he didnt foul D West earlier on the time clock to give his team a chance to get it back.
"I couldn’t get out there,” Anthony said. “I don’t want to fall flat, now.”
So hes too tired now to even try? wow

Hes a great talent but he should not be considered a super star, no way.

All I will say is this, the other four Knicks on the floor to close a playoff game were: Bill Walker, Toney Douglass, Jared Jeffries and Roger Mason.

There are a lot of Melo haters on this board... I hate Kobe but I'll admit he's an amazing basketball player... Don't know why other people cannot share that mentality.
