The question is maybe they are looking for another team for Harrington to take other player(s) - what ever it is, but in the end i think NY will then change its game plan to an even lower offer. They seem to want to change it not moving a future pick.

Hill is only 21 years old, and he's a bigman which takes longer to develop.

People think all rookies need to bust out or something. Some guys take longer to develop, that's just how it is. Hill is getting 10mpg, it's not like he has a lot of time to showcase his talent or potential.

You gotta wait at least another year to call him a bust. Not half a season in his rookie season. Give the man time to fail.

^ After watching the Knicks vs Bulls - I hope it's the Bulls. I'm not sure a swap and a pick (which is in question) is worth taking those 3 (Jeffries, Hughes and Hill).

We are going to take the Knicks offer and it will include the 2012 pick. We are going to agree to that deal, then we are going to look to ship some combination of Hughes, Battier, Scola, Hill, and the picks for a big time shooting guard and a big man or possibly a mega deal with Minny for Al Jefferson and the rights to Rubio. There is a secondary trade or secondary trades coming after we agree with the Knicks tomorrow.

Hughes and Hill, we can't trade them together with other players. I don't know if Hill plus a first-round pick would net Rubio.

i wouldn't bet on it, but we will have to wait and see.

i think if we get hill and some picks, morey will want to hold onto those assets to see what they become before trading them away.

The New York Knicks are finalizing a deal to acquire Houston Rockets forward Tracy McGrady, an NBA source told SI.com.

The framework of the deal involves sending McGrady to New York for forward Jared Jeffries, guard Larry Hughes and forward Jordan Hill. The Knicks and Rockets have agreed to swap 2011 first round picks and the Knicks will send the Rockets their first round pick in 2012.

The only outstanding issues involve protection for the draft picks.

The deal could be completed as early as tomorrow.

Morey and Walsh can agree on the deal and not complete it until the trade deadline, thereby giving Morey time to flip pieces such as Hughes and Hill along with some of his current pieces and create his 3-way or 4-way deal. I suspect they are going to agree and be bound to each other, but the deal is not going to be faxed in until Morey can exhaust all the secondary trade opportunities and mix up the pieces. See?

I stand corrected from earlier TV report: Knicks still have shot at TMac, source says. NY deciding on suitable protection on future picks.

yeah, good try spreading rumors about T-mac not playing.

Quick question, I know this was brought up earlier but I didn't see it answered (I haven't read every comment on every page though). Could we possibly trade one of the pieces we would potentially receive from NY to a different team before the trade deadline or because of the 48 hour rule we can't?

I really think this might be a move to try and land Rubio on draft night. Morey really knows what he is doing.
