I would rather send tmac and dorsey for iggy and dalembert.

Yao isnt going to last much longer so why wait to draft picks?
Unless they add another team in this trade to trade the picks to for a star player, i would think this is bad. Im not asking for a super star but atleast a 16+ ppg player would be better

If this deal goes down as written, I predict it will be the last trade Morey ever makes for The Rockets :)

You take back a couple of players that don't fit well with your team. The only way you even entertain taking Jeffries is if you are getting David Lee in return.

The Knicks would be tickled ****less with this deal. They are going nowhere. They want Lebron James. Taking McGrady has absolutely ZERO risk for them. None whatsover. Harrington and Hughes are expiring anyway, and they manage to dump Jeffries' $7 million on The Rockets for what really amounts to only a draft pick.

The Rockets are getting robbed in this deal. And can you imagine what The Knicks are going to be able to throw at Lebron James next year?

Max Contract + "We have the money to sign ANY PLAYER'S YOU WANT Lebron..."

There is no way in hell that Lebron James' agent will not be taking him to The Knicks. It's a DONE DEAL, mark my words.

I thought it was an NBA rule that you can't deal your first round picks 2 years in a row. Does exchanging first rounds picks negate that rule?

Reagrding McGrady/Knicks, the latest Fix warns of jumping to conclusions on a bum knee: http://bit.ly/b79eUX #Knicks

The reported scenario involving Knicks/Rockets/McGrady are accurate parameters, but nothing close to being done. Hesitation on both ends.

Yes, i also like iggy and dalembert idea but big long contract is not Morey's style.

Crossing my fingers that this deal goes through.

Is Alan Hahn a reliable source?

Well thanks for bumping it for me. My post was the last on the previous page which probably won't be seen or will be overlooked. Thanks again. :)

    One more thing to add:

Alan Hahn: Knicks are basically mortgaging future (2011, 12 picks, plus Hill) for $9M more in cap space this summer.

Agreed. Plus, with Jeffries then becoming an expiring, you still have a bit of breathing room to pay Brooks and Landry the following year.

With regard to an impact scorer, what position would you look for him to come from? Al Harrington is a deeply flawed player, but he is a year removed from being a 20 ppg guy (and is an 18 ppg guy now, albeit on a pair of terrible teams). You can't really play him next to Landry, nor keep keep both he, Landry, and Scola.

I'm still trying to figure out how Larry Hughes went from a 26 year old 22-6-5 w/3 steals guy to a 10 ppg on sub 40% FG% guy.

Along with McGrady talks, Walsh will be busy before 2/18. Word is Celtics are still very interested in Nate Robinson.

like i said, i didnt mention a super star, i said a star player.
Someone like iggy would be better than picks. Yao isnt going to last till 2012 as an elite player. And i dont see the rockets landing huge talent at the summer.
Hell i wouldnt mind getting Jamieson or iggy instead of this trade with NY.

Someone else told me that tonight! RT @ChrisMannixSI: If the Knicks can dump Jeffries by Thursday, Donnie is Exec of the Year. Period.

So those picks in 2011/12 aren't supposed to be lottery picks.

Don't discount the value of clearing $9M in cap space. Would mean Knicks have enough room for two max offers. LeBron/Wade, Bosh/Johnson, etc

Dude, Yao is done. He has gotten hurt every year in the league but like one. He will get hurt again next year and the year after that. I can't believe we haven't traded him for some value last year but I know that the Chinese $$ is a factor.
