You're probably right. At the end of the day, this deal would give the Knicks a lot of money to spend, and it's hard to image they spend it as poorly as they currently have. So the base argument could/should be they get better.

They question is how much, and what about the rest of the teams in the conference, etc.

Does anyone know if this gets us under the luxary tax? I would do the numbers but Im not sure how the kicker from Jeffries is calculated and how much it even is.

I suppose that's the problem or the solution. It's a problem if LeBron does go there. It's a solution if they're still bad enough that he doesn't want to move.

Like YoYo said, if they get Amar'e, I don't think he'll leave the Cavs. Crossing my fingers.

How many power forwards do we need? I'd rather acquire Chandler and trade either Battier or Ariza, re-sign Landry and trade Scola.

Additionaly, I fail to see how Hill is the better long-term prospect. Chandler is already a proven commodity in the league and Hill may NEVER pan out. Furthermore, they're the same age. Wilson is only 2 months older than Hill but his skill set and feel for the game seem light years ahead. Chandler can be an immediate impact player for us that can and should start for us at the small forward position.

If that's not enough both Hill and Chandler have 2 years left on their current contracts. Hill is making close to 2.5m/year and Chandler is making 1.25m/year. As a team trying to pinch every penny and avoid the LT I think that's a strong consideration that needs to be taken into account.

If we end up with Hill then I won't be terribly dissapointed but don't get it twisted. Wilson Chandler is the better player and Morey should be doing everything to acquire him as the main piece.

100% agree. They are going to spend their money though - overpaying a MLE type FA and resigning Lee.

And because they're the Knicks, I see them overpaying those mid free agents which would hurt them.

Yeah, if we lose $3.5M (as was estimated earlier), we'd be under it.

I haven't seen Jordan Hill play at all, so I can't really tell how good he is or how good he can be. I do like his size, though. And if we get him while getting rid of Dorsey and Cook, then I'm all for it.

Jared Jeffries? I'd rather not get him, obviously, but having $6 million sitting around is a hell of a lot better than having $23 million sitting around. And if we can get a better chance at a high 1st round pick this season as well as getting another first round pick, then I'm completely ok with bringing in Jeffries.

If I had to pick one guy between Hughes and Harrington... it is a pretty easy decision. Harrington has good size and can really spread the court if he plays the 4. Larry Hughes is worse than Trevor Ariza. He has absolutely pathetic shooting numbers this season. Please give us Harrington.

Is this ready to be sent to the league, or has one team still not pulled the trigger on it?

I don't think Lee is anywhere close to being a near max player, but you have answered a lot of questions for me. Thanks.

LOL no I did not know that...thanks for the info. All it seems to me is they are clearing enough money to offer alot of money to a top tier free agent. Im really not well educated on the business aspect of basketball just more of seeing stats and skill.

i think so too. and i'm sure adelman wants him to, considering how adamant he wants to implement his offensive style.

i think wade will consider NY and chicago (the lack of the development of beasley i think has turned off the heat for him). chicago has drose, and NY has tmac and lee.

Yes, in both scenarios, including misc expenses, it does.

Any thoughts out there on Hill and Budinger, both on the same Arizona team, being teammates again? That's pretty cool. I wonder if the Knicks could toss in Marcus Landry just for giggles? We'd get old college teammates and brothers in the same trade!

I just hope rockets can get Al Harrington instead of Larry Hughes.

Harrington can play SG, SF, And PF and he can also post up and shoot three's

    Please do the trade!!!!!!!

It would seem that way, but then Donnie Walsh has been in this business for a long time. Why would he give away his lottery pick and a couple more first rounders if he didn't have a solid plan?
