Where did I say getting Brad Miller made this offseason successful? We're not even talking about the offseason. We're just talking about these two teams. You underestimating him by saying he'll "struggle" against the Lakers. He might struggle defensively, but offensively he'll do what he does every night. Everyone has roles, Martin is to score. Battier and Lee can help him on the defensive end. and sure, Scola and Yao has struggled against them. Though, they've also done very well against them. Didn't Scola just tear the Lakers apart in the first quarter of Game 6? In a 7 game series, all it takes is a couple of guys to get hot shooting, and the series can be won.
i think that lakers series was fool's gold. i think the lakers complacency given their ability to flip the switch has allowed us all to see that playoff series loss as something more than it really was.
Yeah, really. I seriously think they thought it would have been a cakewalk and underestimated us a couple of games. Also, Kobe had the flu in Game 1, so that had to have had been a factor in the loss. They turned the switch on in game 7 and beat a superior team than ours in less games.

Didn't read everything, but it's suggested that we somehow try and get in this multi-team deal even if we don't get Melo. What is that we're expecting to get? We already have plently of 'low grade' assets. A third string C? I don't think we're going to pay more then league minimum for that, and I really don't know what we'd want to give up for that. Taylor for a 3rd string C is about it.

They can be serious AND not yet close...sounds like they're committed to the nets, which is the key, and is just a matter of time before they work out the kinks to the trade. Of course it could still break down, but this sounds like it has stalled, not gone back in direction.
