Nets were my second choice behind the Rockets. A. The Knicks Picks are safe. B. The move helps ensure when the Nets come to Brooklyn my new team (behind the rockets of course) won't suck.
I'm cool with this... I am guessing Melo is banking on CP3 finding his way to the nets somehow... cause they are still going to be almost as bad as last year. I think we need another big rather than a SF, so find a way to make that happen and we are good to go.
SOFTER...not necessarily calling the Rockets soft but they are not as good as they were two years ago. We only have two maybe three bulldogs on the current roster. Lowry and Scola and hoping for Miller to be tough Compared to Lowry, Scola, Ron, Carl, Wafer
It doesn't seem to me like finding a winning team is his top priority. It seems like location is much more important to him.
This team is better put together, and you add in Yao, an improved Brooks and an uber efficient Kevin Martin, they are better, and not by a little bit but by a lot. DD
Huh? You're equating "good" with being bulldogish. Being bulldogish is good and all, but it is hardly the only thing. Artest after all was highly bulldogish when he was doing his iso offense which caused us to throw bricks at our TV. Ultimately, Lowry-Scola-Ron-Carl-Wafer is inferior to Lowry-Scola-Battier-Martin-Budinger. That's not debatable.
I hope you are right, only the season will tell. Im hella disappointed in the off season due to such high expectations but we really didnt make any changes to our roster other than hoping Yao will come back healthy and counting on Martin to stay healthy the whole season. Its starting harder to be optimistic when everything always depends on health and the two guys you are counting on are always hurt.
True, but this team can compete offensively with teams like the Lakers now. Back then, we couldn't. It's a little more even now. I'm also hoping Patterson could become one of those "bulldogs" and I wouldn't be surprised if he did. Also, Courtney Lee is tougher then some people give him credit for. Watch out for him.
Yao in the 08-09 season was in GOD mode, played every quarter, and only missed like 5 games. The team chemistry is seriously gonna take a hit with these litte cameos by Yao. It's gonna be like T-Mac situation, but far worse because he is much more focal point on offense. Morey is all talk, IMO. I mean what's the point of accumulating all these assets if you can't put them to good use. LMFAO on Brooks and Martin being our top dogs. Melo would have been that. This team and FO fustrates the hell out of me. Why is it that we can't land anyone? Enjoy another year of mediocrity Rockets fans! And BTW that team that took the Lakers to 7 games is helleva lot better than this current one.
The 08' team had so much heart, effort, and passion to win. I just dont see our current roster, on paper, to be a championship contender. I hope I am wrong. We have a glaring weakness at SF. I hope Yao can return to his old form.
