No, I'm not. It's not even funny how many regrettable things you've said during these speculations and off-season in general. We're not close to winning a title as constructed. Anyone that watches any ball knows this. We simply cannot compete with the Lakers, Heat or Celtics.
You're just happy because Chase is no longer at risk of being shipped to Denver in a package for Carmelo.
agreed. our team how it is, is good, melo or not. We need another big though (fesenko, since dampier seems to be going to the heat).

Nope, I am happy that a team of hard working, talented players, will get to go at the league. This is gonna be a fun year, and all the naysayers will come around..... DD
I don't care about a fast start. I've never said that we're not a playoff team as is. We just are not in position to win it all. That's clear as day. Let me break it down. The Texans are closer to win a title than the current Rockets squad. This is a different NBA. Let me reiterate that we cannot compete with the Lakers, Heat, or Celtics in a 7 game series.
Good now it's time to go after someone who rounds out our roster and would come at a much cheaper price... Andre Iguodala.
I completely disagree with you, we almost beat the Lakers 2 years ago, and this team is WAY better than that one. We shall see...we shall see.. DD
The Denver Nuggets are having serious discussions about a four-way trade that would land Carmelo Anthony with the New Jersey Nets, according to sources with knowledge of the negotiations. The proposed deal, sources said, also would involve the Utah Jazz and the Charlotte Bobcats. It would deliver Nets rookie forward Derrick Favors, Jazz veteran Andrei Kirilenko and multiple first-round picks to Denver in exchange for their franchise player, potentially bringing a resolution to Anthony's uncertain future before the Nuggets hold their first practice of the new season. Sources told ESPN.com that the deal, which has yet to be finalized, also would send former All-Star point guard Devin Harris to Charlotte, with Bobcats forward Boris Diaw moving to Utah. The four teams, said one source close to the talks, are "seriously engaged" after extensive talks Thursday. However, one obstacle is Anthony's willingness to sign a contract extension with the Nets. A source told ESPN.com that the Nets will not go through with the trade -- even if Denver is ready to pull the trigger -- unless Anthony commits to signing a contract extension, as Kevin Garnett did as part of the mega-trade that sent him from Minnesota to Boston in July 2007. Because Anthony has the ability to become a free agent at season's end -- which is the hammer that has enabled his agent, Leon Rose, to apply such pressure to the Nuggets in hopes of forcing a trade before the start of the season -- New Jersey is unwilling to sacrifice assets such as Favors and Harris without a guarantee that Anthony will be there for the long term. ESPN.com reported earlier this week that Anthony's representatives have been pushing Denver to deal the 26-year-old to New York or Chicago, his two preferred destinations, but the Knicks lack the trade assets required to tempt Denver and the Bulls have consistently refused to make center Joakim Noah available, trying instead to sell the Nuggets on a package headlined by swingman Luol Deng. The Nuggets have offered Anthony a three-year extension worth $65 million, but he has not signed the deal. Marc Stein is a senior NBA writer for ESPN.com.
The only problem is that Melo would need to sign/agree to sign to an extension before the trade goes down. There will be brakes on that happening once the final lineup is placed in front of him and Devin Harris isn't on it, and he knows they've lost prospects. Money can't magic players on the court for 2010-2011. However, you're on to something if you think Carmelo's people are talking to Chris Paul who will be able to join Melo in Brooklyn as a free agent. Carmelo only signs the pre-emptive extension if he has enough confidence that Chris Paul will be joining him from New Orleans (not charlotte lol). If this deal went down I almost assure you in a couple years the big 3 in Brooklyn will be CP3, Melo, & Lopez/whatever new FA they bring in at 4 to make Lopez more of a role player. FYI: I think all this LaLa talk is idiotic. The only reason that's being brought up is because Carmelo is a New York kid and the Knicks just landed Amare. If LaLa wanted to move to Kansas or if the Knicks looked like the Knicks of 2 years ago we wouldn't even be hearing about it.
I agree with majority here. Melo goes out of the West and keeps our NY picks still valuable. a starting lineup of: farmar morrow melo murphy brooks is laughable.
yeah Cuban really dropped the ball by turning a perneial loser of a franchise into a legitimate contender year-in and year-out but thanks for proving my point.
