Yes, "these days." It's not like Magic Johnson was responsible for getting his coach fired almost thirty years ago.

 

Yeah, I hear you but disagree. I don't actually dispute any of the details he's giving: thrown shirts and baskets of fries. I think Woj has too long a professional history to start making stuff up out of thin air. What he has is a unique set of data on James, and he's decided to let 'er rip because: (1) he gets a great # of page hits for this stuff (as people have already said), and (2) he actually thinks it's important to get this out in the public.

For #2, I don't know why, but there are lots of good reasons, least of which he is "butt hurt" or something. I don't think he cares that Lebron left for Miami overall. Good reasons could be Woj loving the game and hoping that today's high school superstar phenoms can learn a little something, or Woj seeing something in this Maverick Carter business that he's not even letting us know about, something that could really cause the NBA big problems down the line.

Overall, I'll say this: a human being would have to possess a character of iron to go through the experiences of Lebron and not be a diva. He really never got to be a normal kid, starting at about ... what? ... age 13?

 

I think I know where he gets it from:

 

up until this summer i always thought of lebron as this great basketball player who was humble and professional in his approach to the game. but his "decision" this summer and all the woj articles (among others) have really exposed lebron for the person he truly is. hes a spoiled man-child who thinks hes above everyone else because he's better than the average person in putting a ball in a hoop. as much as i love basketball, at the end of the day, its just a game and those who excel at it shouldn't be awed and revered like some nobel laureate. lebron is a human being of very average intelligence whos done nothing for this world beyond making kids ooh and aah at his dunks

 

I find it interesting that all of this Olympic stuff was apparently well-known in high basketball circles and among a few journalists, but it only comes out after LeBron does The Decision.

Seems like we should have heard about this earlier.

 

i think lebron really killed one of woj's family members. how come NONE of this came out with the cavs (i mean AT LEAST ONE LEAK? or HALF of a story?) and now all are coming out. you have got to be kidding me?

 

Probably means that there is a kernel of truth to it, but Woj is making it look worse than it was.

 

Lebron is shooting himself in the foot. The Heat are not going to bring in anybody else because even if he's not Wade's guy, Spoelstra is Riley's guy. Chemistry is the main problem with this team and instead of trying to bring everyone in he's going to throw his coach under the bus? The problem is not the coach its personnel. If he knew more about basketball he would've known that you can't go out there and play 3 on 5.

Sadly, this team will probably turn it around and get into the second round of the playoffs and all of this will be forgotten.

Yao was definitely brought up to be a basketball player and probably didn't get to live a normal life, but was he really given the same type of star treatment from such an early age? He comes from an entirely different culture, and I'm not very familiar with his background.

Regardless, I think Yao's humility with the success he's had at least since coming to the US has proven he does have a lot more character than most people.

 

really? how come we never heard about that TEAM USA story before? look, the way woj paints lebron since decision is like a dictator.

i'm sure some players from that team USA would have stepped up to him if he was being a little coddled biotch.

 

Actually, I recall reading about the Team USA stories a while ago.

Woj may in fact have a strong personal dislike for James, but that doesn't mean he is making up stuff about James here.

I certainly don't recall anyone denying any of these stories.

 

Is this the best defense for Lebron his fans can come up with now? Why is this info coming now after he did something publicly stupid? Why do you think ALL of the Tiger stuff broke right after his car accident? It's called an audience. He has one now. He's probably always known about how much of a spoiled baby Lebron is and just kept it stashed until the public turned on Lebron. If he did this a year ago when people still liked Lebron, it wouldn't have as much of an impact.

 

The difference between the Lebron and Tiger situations is that many women stepped forward in the Tiger situation. Almost all of this stuff about how horrible Lebron has been for years is coming from a single source.

 

Woj better watch out. Lebron is making a list and checking it twice.

 

Just as I said, he is surrounded by "yes" men and his sense of entitlement has gone wild.
