    Yeah I saw that.

Great job by Ainge locking him up for another 5 years.

Kid may earn himself an FMVP award some day.

hmm rondo is worth that much money???

I think he is only doing really well because he is on a team with KG, Pierce, and Allen.. they suck all the defense away and allow Rondo to operate..

he would struggle if he was the main star on a team and was the sole focus of the defense..

his performance last year in the playoffs speak for themselves, he may have been the best PG playing in the playoffs last year, better than CP3, better than Deron. just because he plays with PP, Allen, KG, it doesn't make him any less of a player, but 55 million, wow.

Bill Duffy is becoming a pretty good agent. I hope Carl gets rid of him by the time his current contract is over :)

Neither KG, Pierce, and Allen got rings as the main star either. Teams need at least 2-3 stars to win now.

Nah I think he is well worth of his new contract.

Rondo, at 23, out of all PGs, is the best defender and rebounder imho.

He also converts a good rate of attempts into baskets around the rim thanks to his speed, explosiveness and tremendous wingspan.

Now if he improves on his mid-range game, he would be deadly and deserves a max contract. Doubt he will ever learn to shoot though.

His not a scorer and never will be, so it does not matter if the defense is focus to him. If you are saying that Rondo by playing beside the big 3 is getting easy assists, then you are stretching it.

His a top notch defender and rebounder, to go along with his court vision and handles. Thats what earns him the 55m.

If Rondo continues improving, this contract will look like a steal in a couple of years. If not, oh well.

I am disappointed in Rondo's game this year. I heard the stories about Rondo working with Mark Price last summer and thought he might be an improved shooter this year. So far he's as reluctant as ever shooting the ball; it's not even about the shooting percentage, it's just he looks like diffident when open and often passes it up.

That said, Rondo is worth the money, if he ever does become a confident shooter, he'll be a top 5 PG.

Rondo carried the Celtics more times than any other player on the Celtics last year. He is worth that money now and the Celtics are lucky to have him shored up for 5 more years now.

It doesn't matter, we have Morey, not Ainge. Morey owns Bill Duffy. :D

I wonder how Rondo will feel after year 3 of that contract when Wallace, Garnett, Pierce and Allen start to show their age.

He probably would be worth more if he had a better jump shot.
