Morey is not genius, what he did right is he choose the right coach. In fact, He made some bad selections on players.
They should have listed the salaries of these guys as well: 34.6 million combined and no one making over 7 million dollars. Now that's bang for your buck.
Provide some examples. The only glaring flaws during the Morey GM era has been his free agent signings. The guy is magic in the late first and 2nd round if you compare him to other GM's.
The only bad pick he has made so far is Dorsey, imo. But that's a very low pick. Consider how many low 1st round picks and 2nd round picks he has made, and all but one have panned out. That's pretty amazing.
So far Taylor is pretty much a disappointment too. All GMs make mistakes. Morey is a good GM, but I wouldn't call him a genius yet, not before he brings us a superstar.
How many minutes has Dorsey had in games? And we know he's a disappointment. There may be hope for Taylor, but he has not had a great start.
The thing that impresses me is that this truely is Morey's team. With Yao and Tracy out every player on this team (with the exception of Battier which was a Carrol Dawson move) was a Morey free agent, trade or Draft pick. He has mostly done it by finding the "diamond in the rough". And for those who say he has never brought us a superstar...we all considered getting Ron Artest here last year a superstar move. I think we all felt like we picked the pockets of the Kings.
