the first three are facts the fourth is an informed opinion Not saying he isn't a good player...just pointing out his faults. I don't know enough about Bosh or his game to discuss
sad whats happened to amare. i remember 2002 vividly. he still is 27, id do landry/ariza/lowry for him. okay so sue me if you dont like my deal its just i dont like how landry can be neutralized easily like in the Heat game with height and doubles and blocks.
This board can get on its high horse about low character players. Picking apart the flaws and lowering the player's value. And forget that they're 5 time+ All Stars. In reading their description you'd think they're Stromile Swift or Zach Randolph. Amare may not be a true franchise player. I'd trade Yao for him straight up if I could. And yes, part of it is the popular notion now of Yao's current prolonged absense making people miss him less and less. Its also to say that Amare is a good player. BTW, the Amare trade anticipation has been an annual thing. Probably something to it but I'll believe it when I see it
I think this is good news for the Rockets. The more teams trying to trade star players, the more chance we have of landing one. Obviously it gives us more leverage if we can say "Sorry Colangelo, if you won't accept ____ for Bosh, we'll have to make this deal with Phoenix. They'll take that package for Stoudemire".
Is this fact, or are you kidding? If this is true, I'm interested to see what kind of money/years he gets on his contract. Do you have any info on the numbers?
There is only a handful of players who can team with Stoudemire, because his game is different as he plays no defense, but can do everything else and has no range. So you need to surround him with playmakers, defenders, spacing/running/shooting bigs the Okur's/Murphy's type. Is there any players who actually space the floor with great shooting consistency and plays defense and can run the floor? Hardly ever and it requires those type of players to compensate for his weaknesses. You need wings who are ball hawks/can run the floor/space the floor/play off the ball/can man up and defend guys who can switch screens and pick's out high. Nash is a playmaker and good shooter, but plays no defense. Stoudemire needs specialties around him to get the most from him and the team. Basically your whole team has to run/rebound/space/shoot/defend/play off the ball to build around him. The Suns have been missing many of these pieces to be taking seriously in the playoffs the last few years. Trading baskets? No defense? come on, show me a team the last few decades who ever won a championship using this philosophy. Then i'll show you the teams who have won a championship who play defense.
I agree with you for the most part. The reasons you listed are the exact reasons I think Bosh would be a better fit here in Houston. I do like Amare though, either one is better than t-mac at the moment.
The max contract to Bosh or Amare, no way... no how. While, losing Landry and another piece in the process. I'd let the Grizzlies or 76ers do it. Again, we really don't need a power forward (Scola, Landry, and Hayes), we need someone to play defense and rebound. We need more points from our backcourt, if anything. It's funny people talk about Yao being injured and even soft on defense (based on opinion), yet two power forwards above are even more suspect on defense and are some duo of iron men who never get injured.
People can say what they want about Yao's defense, but the truth is he is automatically good on defense because he is freakin 7'6". You can really see how much this teams defense suffers without having a 7 footer.
Amare wants max. They are negotiating. But its believed he will get less than max. Maybe 3 yrs/57 million. Its on a couple of suns forums I googled it.
That would have him making about $19 million per year. How much per year is a max contract, $25 mill per?
What do you think Landry and Scola are worth resigned? If you get Bosh, you give him a big contract, who the f cares about landry if we get Bosh? Seriously sick of the overrating of our players. "Landry is gonna be a superstar!" Do people honestly think Yao + this team in tact are enough to win it all??? I mean...assuming that is our freakin goal right??? Yao+Bosh-Landry-another peice is a step forward while Yao + current squad= plateau. Give brooks his contract, give landry and scola and lowry their contracts, resign Yao. You'll see how mediocre our situation will be then, and we will be locked into it. But, its okay. As long as they hustle right?
Bad title by Yahoo, but i'm not surprised...it implies Amare knows something and is anticipating a deal when he's really just anticipating rumors.
Yes, because someone who's 16.8 pts AND leading the league in both rebs and blocks sucks. I agree the league's watered down, but it does not matter because RIGHT NOW DH is the best center in the league. He has no offensive moves, so what? His one and only move "the dunk" already converts at a ridiculous 60.1% this season, that's not enough for you? The fact is DH will give you 60% FG, a double double, the league's most number of blocks and pretty good D. Did I mention he's only 24 years old? That's worth the max contract out of any person besides LBJ and maybe Durant.
