As I've mentioned awhile ago, I have no doubt Yao will make it into the Basketball H.O.F. He's had a huge impact on the sport, especially, when it comes to its promotion in China, and more generally among the Asian population. Not to mention, he's coming along nicely, and may develop to be one of the great centres of the game. The fact that he is indeed the first Asian player to have play at a level of significance makes him a lock.
i like yao. again, i hope he becomes a GREAT player and helps houston win another championship, but people. a couple week stretch of great games doesn't make you a Hall Of Famer. and just because he's the first good chinese player in the nba isn't a reason to be in the hall either. arvidas sabonis contributed more to the sport of basketball worldwide than yao has, does that mean he should be in hall of fame after a good nba career? no. yao is going to have to keep up this 25/10 type pace for another SIX or SEVEN YEARS to be a hall of famer. i think most people can agree, to be a hall of famer you have to one of the most dominant players of your generation. you have to be consistent and win games. yao is going to have to prove that first before we start throwing his name out there for the hall of fame.
YOF's need to calm down about Yao. People are expecting too much from him since his hot start to the second half of the season. He hasn't accomplished anything yet! Please stop overating him! I personally expect Yao to improve in small increments every year unlike some people who think he's Wilt Chamberlain already. Like I said calm the f**k down--He'll have his ups and downs throughout his career, and we'll support him just like we'll support T-Mac and all the other Rockets.
Yao is a great Representitive and embassador for the chineese people in general. greatly talented yet very humbel at the same time. he is probaly Now a top 5 if not top 3 commodity now.his size to go with his awesome skill's in the low block makes him virtually unstoppable now.I'm being seriouse here, if the spurs offerd me Duncan, i'll turn it down. thats how much i believe yao is gonna help this ball club for a long while to come.
