Man, I don't hate on Green and want him to succeed badly, but some of y'all just need to see it for what it is. He's struggling and he's been fcking terrible...not even trying.
Harden "folding in the playoffs" comes down to 2 games: 2017 WCMF game 6 vs San Antonio 2015 WCF Game 5 vs GSW Both of these times he was hard carrying a team of role players, with very little help. Both the 2015 warriors and the 2017 spurs were stacked teams with multiple all stars and HOFers. You can't possibly fault him when he was taking teams with Jason ****ing terry as a starter to fight Curry,Klay, Draymond all of whom her prime. He was on CP3 hammy and fairly officiated game from taking the finals in 2018, that too vs the Greatest team of all time. In 2019, when CP was washed, his running mate was Eric Literal Gordon. Constant carries gets exhausting. Hes no Lebron. Jalen has a perfectly able supporting cast. He didn't carry anyone the way harden did. These two are not comparable whatsoever. Give Harden Sengun and Amen and Jabari and he's creating a dynasty. EDIT; Disagree about defense, hes getting torched by Podz and Hield
Theyre indeed all mental. He's dropped 30 bombs on the thunder, and averages 5 points more against them than he does against Golden State, and the thunder are way better than Golden State by every metric possible.
I saw more talent and versatility out of Harden coming out of Arizona....and that is Green being a hell of talent as well.
The Thunder are better but they don't have a Steph Curry and his range. They don't even have a Draymond, Dort isn't there yet. Their overall package is better but there are parts of GSW that are elite and championship worthy.
Only 13 teams have done it. I dont think we will b the 14th, green is too inconsistent, ime is getting outclassed and fvv fking sucks
I wouldn't normally say this about any other player, but Jalen will never reach Harden's level. End of discussion.
I can say that about a lot of players tbh, prime Harden is one of the greatest offensive players of all-time and an MVP, the vast majority of players will never reach his level.
U could say that to like 90ish+ percent of active nba player. Harden will become a HoF, very few would reach that level
The issue is with Green. Draymond isn't defending Green. Curry and Podz and GPII are nowhere near the thunder defensively.
What does it matter ultimately if Harden was fools gold? Why do I care if Jalen is going to become a 36ppg scorer if he’s going to shart the bed time and time again when it matters most just like Harden did last night. And not play any defense on top of that? I know Green improved his defensive effort and that’s all you really need in the modern NBA, but it’s not enough to get you a championship. Nah. I’ll take a pairing of Giannis and Book any day over Alpy and Green. You’ll die at the base of that ”potential” hill and never get anywhere. Why not hook your line to the guy who’s already at the top of the mountain?
I've watch a lot of teams trade for guys at the top of the mountain and have a brutal fall down within 2 years. Not saying you're wrong but seen it happen to many times before
This thread is massive cope. Comparing Harden in the Finals to Jalen in the first round. Jalen just does not have "it". If he did, he wouldn't be in single digits 3/4 games so far. If he has single digits again tonight he needs to be traded in the offseason. He would be with this squad during this NBA era. A shame that didn't happen.
