I appreciate this Nathan Chen guy not wearing any sparkles when he skates. You have to be good if your ops are all blinged the hell out and all you got is a Hanes undershirt, and a fake pocket square and lapels.
I'm not a fan of figure skating and haven't been paying attention but I admit the Nathan Chen's skate and the Japanese competitor before him got my attention.
Eileen Gu isn't the only US born athlete for the PRC. Skater Zhu Yi was born in the US but chose to skate for the PRC. She's been a getting online criticism in the PRC for her poor performance and crying on the ice. Also she's been accused of taking a spot from a Chinese skater.
For the second race in a row Mikaela Shiffrin has been unable to finish a race. She skied off course on the slalom which was considered her best event and on a course that her own coach had set.
Not the Olympics but those who watching the big air competition here is one of the more unusual moves..
The Japanese, Ayuma, and the Australian, Scotty James, are favorites after last night. Those guys are sick.
These big air contests have been so Olympic'd they get really monotonous -- it's just the same trick over and over with an added rotation or twist to add difficulty. Reminds me of the old aerial ski jumps with no real variety.
