Apparently, his internet business involves spam, malware, and spyware. Sounds like a douche. Needless to say, I was hoping he'd crash and not make the podium.
You are making yourself look more stupid with each post in this thread. If you don't like the Winter Olympics, fine. Don't watch. But get out of this thread and leave it for those who are enjoying the games.
I wouldn't know. I don't care for hockey, so I skipped those posts instead of bashing the sport. Try it sometime.
That German guy who won the Luge kicked some serious butt in that competition. I got tired of watching it cause he always had the best start and noone could start like he could always being behind from that point forward. That was pretty funny on those final runs. It seems like every guy that came down ranked in the top three and each looked like he thought he would medal. But, as they kept coming down, they kept knocking them out. The Russian gave off a vibe like he thought he was going home with gold and he didn't even medal with just three left. I also didn't understand how the French skiier ranked 6th after having the fastest run and the only fault they pointed out with his run was on one of his airs...he didn't do the hand grab. It makes me believe the TV commentators are not judges for a reason...because there must have been other mistakes they missed that the judges caught.
Not knowing freestyle skiing all that well, I'll go with what the commentators were saying. Sure he went hella fast, but his 'turns' weren't as clean as the top three, his knees weren't together. He also entirely missed a grab on the last air.
I've been trying to find out what exactly his business does and haven't seen anything definitive so it does sound shady. I wasn't rooting for him but he does sound like an interesting character.
I was wondering about that too. Johny Mosely was the commentator and he is a former Gold Medalist and World Champion and has also judged freestyle skiing competitions so I think he knows what he's talking about. Its possible that the judges have access to different camera angles than what was shown on TV so maybe they saw some form breaks that weren't shown but from everything I saw it looked pretty clean. I guess stuff like this is like calling pass interference. Sometimes it just comes down to the judgement of the ref. If I was the French skier though I would be pissed for not even medalling.
so they didn't televise the men's downhill so they could show a bunch of scandinavians bore the world to death
OK time out. I just realized they are playing hockey at GM Place. GM Place is an NHL rink. Usually, the Olympic/International size rink is a bit longer and wider which opens up the game more. I like watching Olympic hockey because of this reason.
Yea, that's why the Nucks are on a 14-game road trip - the longest in NHL history, I believe. They've been talking for months about how they're using NHL-sized rinks this time around. I'm not sure I ever heard why. I also like watching play on the bigger surface. It's a nice change of pace.
Why is NBC saving the Mens Snowboarding event till primetime? This is friggin stupid... I want to see how we won a thrilling Gold medal damnit!
