really?? this is what you said..."The American Media and all those whining and hating ". So you want the media to play up this mysterious "hating"? and the media is ranting and raving about how awesome she was. essentially you made it seem like there was some conspiracy. Dude, you have some series issues. Y
yes, it stems from being born and raised in a white suburban area where even teachers will crack racial jokes about asians. or maybe a jewish family trying to petition against my family moving into the neighborhood because "asians will bring the property value down". but then again, maybe you wouldn't understand that. snowboarding, skiing, and hockey are really the only other sports i want to hear about in the olympics. speed skating i couldn't really give a rat's a$$ about unless someone had a a ridiculous time and just completely dominated. kinda like the figure skating competition....on second thought....i want to hear more about bobsledding or curling. because that's real news to me.
wow ...way to go onto a rant about nothing and then pull the racial "you wouldn't understand" card to save face
DD Waffles, comin' right up. Actually, this is true. Jews want nothing to do with Asia... except that little country called Israel.
sorry wasn't clear on that. i meant that part to be people leaving comments on news articles and people on internet boards.
so you're upset she only got a short video on the internet on the olympic website....oookkkaaayyy. It's on the front freaking page and calls her "FLAWLESS"! wtf do you want? a half hour special on her? Maybe you missed you short program, but they did a 10 minute bio on her...they didnt do that on anyone else i saw. Get your head out of the sand. but i'm glad you got a chance to go off on your racial rant...seems like you're the one with the most animosity towards another race. People in glass houses shouldnt throw stones. So it sounds like you want her to get more time than other people because she's from your country? i see...
yeah, i kinda hit "send" without proofreading. it wasn't meant to be so much an attack on the media and that "journalists should be shot" line didn't really belong there. i was just saying i thought it deserved a bit more coverage than it got. that's it. pulling the race card, had to do with those telling me that i "have serious issues or problems". i was just saying that the issues that i do have, serious or not, stem from a white dominated media and growing up as a minority. and yes, you wouldn't understand. unless, you live in a country as a minority. for example, my white friends here in japan, complain about little things all the time. being discriminated against and such. "she didn't say thank you to me, but she said 'thank you' to you" i don't know what to tell them except that theyre a minority here and i had to deal with more in the states. but that's a whole other topic. anyway, i just thought it was worthy of a little more coverage. that's it. sorry it turned into a rant. THHHHHH THAAAAT'S ALLL FOLKS!!!
Dude, it's the internet. The worst people post comments on articles, YouTube videos, etc. It is not a reflection on the majority, although IS a reminder that those people exist. I thought people learned by now that trolls and idiots will post stuff everywhere on the internet. (Just peek at our own D&D.) Secondly, of course countries are going to cover whatever they're good at. I'm sure Korea doesn't give a sh** about Vonn or Ohno nor should they. And Brazil probably buries the Winter Olympics news on the back page of the classifieds.
Keep on diggin', bullardfan. Oh, and we're showing all the stuff about the US because, well, we're in the US. Didn't you know? The Jews control the media 'round these here parts.
my country is america. and yes, i missed the 10 minute bio on her after her short because i'm in japan. but thanks for reading well, being classy, and smart
If you're in Japan, how do you know what the American media is actually showing? Websites aren't representative of that. Way to jump to conclusions. And I don't mean to pile on; I'm Korean too, and when I saw her getting her medal with the Aegukga playing in the background, giving South Korea its first figure skating medal...man, I teared up a bit. But to say that there was a bias is just flat-out ignorant; just own up to the fact that you jumped to a mistaken conclusion, then tried to hide behind a "I've gone through a lot of racism, so this must also be racist!" defense.
That might be the easiest goal USA has scored so far in the tournament. Even easier than the empty netters.
to professorjay: yeah, i realise that. i just forget sometimes because that's my only connection to the US right now. and when i just encounter douchebags on the net i start to think that everyone back home is like that. and i think it sucks because i'm a bit naive and think that the olympics should be about displaying all the countries not just your own. a unifying event. to AkeemtheDreem86: i was very naive in thinking that our country, america, was different from the other countries in that it would actually show full coverage. to Sir CharlesFan: maybe i'll get flamed for this but... S. Korea and Japan are fairly pigheaded and the media are even worse in those countries. S. Korea is a developed country with a third world mentality. Japan is a developed country who is good at hiding their third world mentality. I just naively thought that America was better than that. I mean c'mon. we have how many medals? we dominate this ****. what better story is there than yuna kim's? we talk about lebron and kobe handling pressure. but she brought the first figure skating gold to her country which is basically a 2 sport country as far as the olympics. but yeah, i am unaware of what was shown (10 minute bio and all) because i just saw the internet news. that's my bad.
i wasnt hiding behind that. i was retaliating those who were writing me off as someone with "insecurity issues" and automatically assuming i'm not american. yeah, i have issues with that. that had nothing to do with the yuna kim topic. just like calling me insecure had nothing to do with yuna kim.
