could vonn at least limit her suckiness in the slalom enough to not keep her teammate from winning as well? in that combined event earlier, she had the lead and looked headed for gold and then hooked a tip and crashed, and now she crashes in the giant slalom (again with the lead) and even gets mancuso's run stopped which results in mancuso having to do most of it again which gets her a terrible time. she should practice not falling in the slalom occasionally.
That comeback by the Norwegian dude in the cross country ski relay was insane. He made up 36 seconds and then out sprinted the 3 and 4 guys. With a bit more time he could have gotten the first place guy. Just insane.
And if you're the US Women, does it really even mean anything to get that bronze? It's not like they were effected by that bump...they were well behind.
is the judge saying S Korea tripped China intentionally? i just want an explanation as to what was wrong with what transpired and how they can lay blame on S Korea
i was thinking the same thing. it's not a victory if the team ahead of you is disqualified on a "technicality".
mostly. i know she was iffy to even compete and has netted us 2 medals already so she's done more than most were hoping for 2 weeks ago, but you have to do some work to not only possibly keep yourself from 2 medals, but to actually keep your teammate from a gold medal defense.
this is why it's hard for me to get behind short track speed skating, no matter how exciting it might be. there is just so much randomness. either someone is getting bumped or held up and loses all their speed or someone is getting DQ'd for who knows what. it just always makes the result seem less meaningful when you're not really sure who the best is after it's over. who knows what the hell will transpire in the men's 500m. and while there's no shame in being 4th best in the world at something, the bronze for the US women definitely can't feel that good when you were down half a lap and just hoping for a fall or DQ. but hey, add that bronze to the medal count!
Thanks USA for beating Canada. You just woke us up. Canada men and women will dominate in the hockey.
I think Korea wasn't allowed to cut into the inner lane. But it was a stupid decision. The chinese was the one the ran her skate into her. That should not be a disqualification. It should have bump them down to silver. Stupid judging decision.
Finland beats the Czech Republic 2-0 in Hockey. They'll face the USA on Friday. Canada will face the winner of the Sweden/Slovakia game.
We pretty much doubled the USA in shots. That's not "woken up"? Miller was hot and the hotter goalie (not the hotter team) won. Now the best team seems unstoppable.
