at least this win washed the dirty taste out of my mouth from the Rockets losing yet once again.. Congrats to Team USA hockey team...
Damn right USA.. beat them at their own sport. What now Crosby? Eh.. kinda wish it was a Semi-Finals game.
Why is Chris Collinsworth giving expert commentary on hockey? Does NBC really not have any other ex-hockey player on its payroll for the olympics? Also, it would be kinda cool to hear Michaels call USA hockey again... however something tells me that he's waaay too slow now to be able to keep up with all the names/rules.
LOL. You can still post here. We need you to say that Canada will win in the medal round so we can do this again.
I don't understand why they don't combine the Winter and the Summer Olympic games together??? Is the Winter mainly whites and the Summer Blacks???
On corollary, I find it highly offensive that the Winter Olympics is held during Black History Month. Can't the Winter Olympics find another month to do their jibber jabber?
I’m not trying to take anything away from the win, but I personally don’t consider NHL hockey – which is essentially what this is since it’s on the small ice surface – to be Canadian hockey. I consider this to be Gary Bettman hockey, which is a style of hockey that he and many of the American owners think Americans want to see.
Everyone knows it's the prelims right? What's the big deal, a group of professionals beat another group of pros in a prelim match.
How did you feel when countries like Japan etc. beat the US at their own sport in the World Baseball Classic?
haha, I thought the same thing. If anyone else saw the ice dance - I realize it's not y'all's cup of tea - the judging of course is often more political, but thank goodness the Russian team lost a few places after that tacky "Aboriginal" thing.
It finally proves that America as a country is not second fiddle to Canada anymore. Huge sociological implications.
Baseball is much more a national sport of Japan than it is in USA for sure. If japan beat us in football then you would see mass suicides.
Hockey is more important to Canadians than baseball, basketball, and football combined are to Americans. They let people take 3 hours off of work when they announced who would be on the Olympic hockey team. I mean, we get upset if we don't win Olympic gold in basketball, but Canada will go totally ape**** if their hockey team doesn't win it all.
I don't think we would. I know football is our national passion and all, but for some reason, hockey means that much more to them then our favorite sport does to us. Atleast for me.
