Surprise, US loses another curling match. A combined 0-7. Wouldn't be surprised to see both teams go 0 for the Olympics at this point.
LOL @ Team Canada Men's hockey team, Swiss Vs. Canada: 2-2 End of Second Period. If Canada does not win this game, that would be funny, I'm actually cheering on the Swiss, don't know why, I guess I want the USA vs. Canada game to be more intense.
I was actually at the first set of matches on Tuesday morning. I didn't know anything about curling, but watching all 8 teams competing side-by-side, it didn't look like the US team had much sense of what they were doing.
why is womens SBing on NBC instead of canada hockey? I don't watch hockey much but those are freaking all stars out there. It doesn't matter how hot the girls are if they are all bundled up in the snow.
Because NBC doesn't want to lock up 2.5 hours of their coverage on one game in one event. NBC is sort of the highlights network. CNBC and the others are where the full events are.
because mens snowboarding got huge ratings last night, especially in the younger demographic. Hockey meanwhile is ratings poison, which is why the NHL playoffs are on Versus.
Here is a link if you want to watch the game online, very good quality as it is being broadcast by a network here in Canada (however there is no commentary) http://www.ctvolympics.ca/hockey/results-and-schedules/match=IHM400A04/index.html The Swiss seem to be out of gas, I think we will take it in overtime! Their goaltender is SICK!
I could be wrong, but I believe the American hockey games are on CNBC and the like as well. I don't think there's any hockey (except highlights) on primetime NBC coverage the entire Olympics.
I'd watch hockey over snowboarding any day... Snowboarding is not even a sport just like figure skating...
Canada missed out on a point, though, right? I believe it's 2 points for an OT or SO win in this format and 3 for an outright win in regulation.
Now I would question the credibility of winning and losing in any sport that's determined by judges... But the amount of athletic ability required to perform those stunts that you see in snowboarding, or skateboarding or in-line or bmx or motocross for that matter, most definitely makes it a sport. I didn't grow up on hockey, so I consider it rather boring, just like soccer. I appreciate both sports for what they are, but I definitely prefer the extreme sports.
I find figure skating very unwatchable, but US just won the mens gold. sweet. now back to your regular life.
That Johnny Weir guy is so gay that he actually could be straight. I apologize for blowing all of your minds.
I can enjoy watching it once every 4 years. I can appreciate watching the best in the world do what they are best at. I'm a little disappointed in Johnny Weir's outfit. His outfit 2 days ago was a 10/10 on the gay meter, this one was only 6/10.
