drofdunk and mrpagie.. thanks... I'll have to look into that idea.. do they both have lots of good sports stations.. ? I get so tired of radio commercials.. and the houston fm stations that don't have quite as many as the other stations spend so much time each hour announcing how many less commercials they have that it is probably just as bad..
This is the one that I have, and I have the adaptors set up in my house, and in my car. I don't have the boombox, but the regular home kit comes with a cradle that attaches to any system with an auxilary function, or just an additional audio input. For instance, for a while, I had it hooked in to my computer speakers, which had 2 audio inputs. Now, I have it hooked into my home stereo, which has an auxilary function. For the car, I have a modulator so that I can tune to 88.5 FM to get my XM stations. The Delphi face is very mobile, and I often continue listening to the same song/show from the car to the house.
castor.. thanks. I'm guessing xm is about the same... is this nfl package included in the monthly fee or extra?

It sounds like Sirius has a better sports lineup. XM just has the standard sports networks (ESPNRadio, ESPNews, SportingNews Radio, Fox Sports) and a Nascar station. That may be worth checking into if you think you'll be wanting to listen to a lot of games.
The NFL package and other pro sports packages are included. Sirius only has one "premium" channel and that is the playboy channel. They do not carry sporting news or Fox sports but they have a couple of other sports channels that are produced in house.
I went with Sirius, because I thought they had a better range of news stations. I regularly listen to Bloomberg Radio, MSNBC, two NPR feeds, PRI, & BBC World Service. I also occasionally listen to ESPN Radio, CBS Radio, & CSPAN. I tried going back to listen for something thought-provoking on the local radio just for a taste, I was shocked by how much more stupid I felt.
castor.... playboy channel.. on radio.. dang playboy makes a lot of money.. now they don't even need images to do it!
When I heard that XM had the playboy channel, the only thing I could think of was... "how desperate do you have to be to get Playboy on the radio?" ... and no I didn't get it.
Did you guys do any special deals when you signed up for Sirius XM radio...like get the activation for free OR get the receiver or home/mobile kit for free? I ask cause I can get a deal where I get a receiver, either a home or mobile kit, and activation for free if I sign up for at least a year. Seems like a good deal to me...just checking with you all.
The Cingular store near my house had, Buy a receiver, get a home or car kit free. The other kit was an addition $50 (they are regularly $70). No activation. I really want the boombox for the lake now.
