bottom line... the majority of people who own both PS2 and Xbox always end up playing Xbox in the long-run, and putting the PS2 in the closet. That should say it all...
I own both systems, and i did stop playing ps2 a long time ago. but i will totally play it again when GTA4 comes out. One last thing, if u ask my opinion, i say PC rules 'em all. Use ur money to upgrade ur pc, and get ready for half life 2, doom 3, rome total war, medal of honor pacific assault. man, i'm drooling now.
Is this an actual fact or an opinion? Even if it was a fact, I'm sure a lot of people would be digging in their closet soon when GT4, GTA:SA, MGS:3, FF 12, Killzone, DMC 3, etc., all come out. Heck, (did I just say heck?) for platform gamers, there is still Sly 2, Jak 3, and another Ratchet and Clank coming out later this year. I'm not a big platform gamer, but those are some pretty good games. It would have been better had I included this in my original reply to your post, but I recently read an article about this. Kind of interesting really. Basically, it says how Microsoft will have a lot of work to make this successfull. Considering that they were the last console to release this gen and will be the first to release next-gen, they really won't have time to let the original XBOX really live out its life, possibly getting some profits from games. They possibly could have milked out another Halo on the XBOX, but unless they can release Halo 2 out this winter and then release another in less than a year, that won't happen. In fact, a Halo on its next-gen cousin would probably take a LONG time, seeing as how it took 3 years just to get a sequal on the same console. I actually heard something about the Halo team being angry at Microsoft or something, but don't know much about it...probably just a rumour. One thing the article mentioned also was how developers may not be willing to make games for the early console. Seeing as how Xenon's competitors won't come out probably for at least 6 months after Xenon releases, developers will still be making games during Xenon's lauch for both the Gamecube and PS2. For developers making multi-platform games, would they be willing to put extra time and money into developing a game for Xenon as well as the games being made for the current-gen systems? Maybe for an established console company like Sony, but not for some new company that just jumped into the business. It will be interesting to see.
I'm waiting for these: PS2: Gran Turismo 4, GTA: SA, MGS 3 Xbox: Halo 2, Shenmue 3, Splinter Cell 3, Fable I think these games only come out on those consoles, I know Splinter Cell 3 would probably come out for the PS2 but its usually 4 or 5 months after the Xbox one (or it was for Pandora Tommorow and Splinter Cell 1) These are the games I want to get and are out right now: PS2: nothing right now Xbox: Ninja Gaiden, ( i played it at a friends house and its awesome) Ralli Sport Challenge 2 When it comes to sports games I usually get them for Xbox because of Xbox Live, I love the mic and the buddy list stuff
Is it just me or is all the hot games for Xbox all shooters or adventureless action games? I'm still waiting to see if XBox can come out with a long line of good RPG/Adventure/Strategy/Simulation game. Something where the point of the game is more than just kill everyone on a map or stage. Edit: Didn't saw Shemue 3, which is a great series,
RC Cola: are you with... Sony? or just unofficially? SHENMUE!!! OH MY FRICKIN'... I get so mad when I see that game mention because it's the most frustrating game ever. COOL premise... but not great for someone with my amount of attention span. Why doesn't he just write a book so we can all google what happens in the end... sheesh! Please don't make another one unless it's actually good. Can you... please... tell me... where... is... king's road... i'm sorry... i cannot... go there. ARGH!
ha..you suck! those games are fun as hell! the voice acting is terrible though you should get a strategy guide or something...weakling
i.... 'm.... sorry..... but.... i must... go... to... sleep... now.... you... 're... the... weak..... ling. hold on... wait a second... strategy guide? that's weak dawg... i figured it out all the way to kowloon all by myself thank you very much... just couldn't take anymore of it.
i was only joking, i never use guides myself takes the point out of the game. I like being frustrated, usually when that happens I leave the game alone for a week or two and just get back in there after that. I'm still playing Splinter Cell: Pandora Tommorow thought I haven't touched it in a month or half
Hehe...naw. I just had to put my interest into something this summer during the Rocket's offseason and the Astro's suckfest, so I just learned about Sony and the PS2, PSP, and PS3. Like a child who learns how to talk, I may kind of go overboard, although I'm in the stage where I learn about the "others." (Xenon, Revolution, DS, etc.) Although, I could have put my interest into black hole, lengthening that thread to 5 pages with me ultimately explaining how Hawking's findings would lead to us shaving with pineapple's in 15 years.
now there's a good game... i couldn't put it down. beat it in 3 sittings. scary thing about that game is the autosave... one time i was about 75% done and i just didn't have enough ammo to finish this level, and i didn't figure out you can restart the chapters so i was afraid i had to do it ALL OVER. imagine the frustration. after a ton of tries though, i was able to beat it optimally, not one bullet to spare. it was pretty crazy.
