Jeez. You'd think MS would sell it in the south west asian region. Thats where all there call centers are after all.

If you like the Steam model, you're going to like Xbox One.
If you would rather remain status quo, PS4 is for you.

If you want to maximize your media potential, Xbox One.
If you prefer a gaming machine only, with a few minor media apps, PS4.

If you like the idea of sharing games remotely, Xbox One.
If you prefer to have complete ownership of a physical media, PS4.

If you are a true gamer...none of this matters and you'd buy both systems because at the end of the day, it's about games.

I have a feeling MS knows they won't win the initial 'war'. They've said as much in interviews. They've made missteps and miscalculations but they obviously knew they were gonna get drug through the mud regardless. I think they believe that profit margins on the One will be much better than the 360 that they and publishers could potentially do more with less. Again might be an over calculation on their part, but we'll see. Rooting for both to succeed. I look at it as competition is a good thing. Things are always being pushed to the limit and no one stays in a safe zone, unless you're Nintendo. A lot of jobs on the line if either fails. Even journalists who cover this stuff would likely see job losses. Cause you don't need 10 reporters covering one company when 5 will do. And E3 would essentially be bland and boring.

Agree on your 3rd and 4th statements.

Disagree on the 1st. I like Steam fine because I can play most of the games I've bought without even launching Steam; there's no 24-hour DRM check. Secondly, Steam discounts steeply, early and often. I will warm to the XBone considerably if they do both these things. At the moment I'm not all that certain they will.
Don't get me wrong, I still plan to buy an XBone regardless, because I guarantee there will be exclusives I want. But it will probably be later on down the line. And I will buy non-exclusives for PS4, because I place greater value on owning the game than remote sharing.

Your 2nd statement, I still feel isn't that cut and dried yet. We still don't know how video quality and upscaling will compare between the two machines. We don't know which one will support more video formats.
I suppose if you define "potential" as voice commands and hand gestures and cable integration and fantasy football updates... then sure, I'll get behind that statement, even though none of those things are a big priority for me. There's just definitely a distinction to be made between "better" and "potential," is all I'm saying really. We can't know "better" yet.

Agreed. Also, even with what I assume he meant (not Steam, but basically a big DD push), both consoles will be pretty much the same (every Xbone/PS4 games can be purchased and downloaded on day 1 of release). It isn't really a deciding factor by itself IMO. Both consoles will push DD strongly (free games, discounts, digital only releases, etc.).

We all no MS will never do that. Steam has amazing sales and are always taking my money. I don't know why he would compare Xbox to steam.

That family sharing feature on Xbox One is great. PS3 introduced it in 2006, though.
You could share your account on 5 different systems, it was later reduced to 4 (actually 2, but you could bypass it). I bought a ****load of games with my friends by sharing an account, waiting for price drops and buying games dividing the cost on 4 equal pieces.
Nobody really knows how will it work on PS4, but Mixrosoft just stole an already implemented idea from Sony, and made it better. And that's completely fine.

As a PS3 owner this gen, I am undecided.

Microsoft showed off way better exclusives in my opinion. Not only that, but this gen, I was tired of Microsoft paying developers extra cash to get extra benefits on the Xbox console. Sony can't afford to do that, but since Microsoft is loaded, they can.

The only issues I have with the Xbox One is:

-$500 price tag , which is $100 more than the PS4. I hope they announce a second, cheaper SKU.
-The fact that you are unable to sell used games through ebay or craigslist.

I was a Playstation "fanboy" in the PS and early PS2 era, made the switch over to Xbox when I went to college and experienced Halo LANfests.

Didn't get a 360 until Halo 3 was released (last fun Halo game) but for this generation I'm still undecided.

I don't game like I used to but considering my wife and nieces and nephews enjoy the kinect aspect alot i'll probably lean towards the new Xbox. I don't care much for the exclusives anymore (Halo went to crap and Gears of War is fun but I don't enjoy it as much as I used to).

Honestly I'll probably wait until a mindblowing game comes out because 600-800 dollars on a new system controllers and games seems like alot to spend when I am perfectly happy with the performance and graphics of the current gen.

honestly, do alot of you guys take your consoles with you if you travel out of the country? i think the console is designed to be stationary and the main part of your living room entertainment center.

Pshh I rather get $1 dollar for my games at gamestop than this.... Not revolutionary at all....... No but seriously....... Xbox One is clearly way ahead of anything we have ever seen from a console.... Impressive....

I guess that makes more sense.
Still. The majority of the complaints are on the restrictions that the Xbox One has on the console.

If it does allow for cheaper games then I am all for it. Although I doubt that'll happen since developers still have no incentive to sell for less. Its not like there is a cheaper alternative (other than Steam).
