Man, I can't believe that Microsoft won't fix the reliability of these things -- my 360 is about 6 months old and it sounds like a bi-plane warming up for take off. I'm actually surprised it hasn't crapped out yet.
I'd take the Killzone 2 bundle. I don't have a remote for my PS3 because I don't have a single blu ray, but I'm looking into getting some. The motivation to buy them is just not there when I just download HD rips. All the games in the bundles that you listed are AAA titles. LBP is great to play with friends, especially a wife or girlfriend. They just find the sackboy irresistibly cute. Killzone 2 and Resistance 2 are straight up shooters, while MGS4 is tactical and maybe the best game I've played. All look great, and all will provide you lots of playing time. I'd just suggest Killzone 2 because it's the newest title, has the highest trade in value, and is easy to get into.
Try grabbing the 60GB earlier model that first came out that would be the best one..That's if you want the PS1 and PS2 compability..If you do you can swap out the 60GB for a bigger hard drive..If not just go ahead and buy the newer models whichever doesn't really make a difference..
Yeah, since the 80GB is software rather than hardware emulation, doesn't it actually smooth out the rough edges on some PS2 games a bit?
does it matter if you get street fighter 4 for 360 or ps3? all my friends have it for ps3, but theyre dicks.
Get the cheapest bundle. You can always upgrade the hd. Not a big fan of bluray but regular DVD upscaling is very nice. The remote is awesome and worth the money. It's more than leaning a ps3 controller layout for women; it's just not effeminate enough for them to use.
Nope (AFAIK anyway). Both have the same PS2 enhancement features. 80GB emulation actually isn't pure software, so that's probably why. I would love some PS2 software emulation...although I'll take hardware emulation just the same.
Hey Ron are you planning on throwing away or selling your dead 360 bro? I'll buy it from you if you wanna sell it send me a pm man.
I bought a 60GB on ebay last summer. If you can get a hold of that or an 80GB that has backwards compatibility with PS2 games, I would highly recommend that. If you have been an XBOX fanboy, I'm guessing there are some fantastic PS2 games you have yet to play that you can get for great prices. For example, Resident Evil 4 was voted #9 overall on IGN's latest top 100 games of all time; I saw it the other day at Best Buy for $15.
I'm going to fix the heat sink again one last time and it's up on ebay with the warning that it's been fixed from past red ring problems.
I would just buy the bare 80gb system unless you intend to but what is in the bundle anyway. As already discussed the Blu Ray remote is useless unless you have a need. A Dual Shock 2 controller is available on Amazon for 42.99 and Killzone 2 for 52.99. Resistance 2 can be found for around $40 or so used on ebay.
Do you mean the Dualshock 3? Also, why not look into getting the 160GB? I don't know about down in the US but up here in Canada there's been some great bundles trying to push the system. Wal Mart Canada had a bundle last month with the 160GB bundle with Uncharted + Littlebigplanet + Resistance 2 Collector's Edition and 3 fairly new Blu Ray's.
