I *HIGHLY* recommend The Orange Box. Once you start playing Portal, you won't stop until it's over. THEN you can play the levels on Advanced mode. It's a great opportunity to play HL2 and Episode 1 if you haven't played them before, or a great chance to play them again (what I'm doing now). And then you get Episode 2, which I am really excited to get to (after I finish HL2 and Ep1), and Team Fortress 2. Bioshock was fantastic, and I really enjoyed it. It's a HIGH recommend, in my book, but I think The Orange Box is really where it's at. Oh, F.E.A.R. is supposed to be great too. It's on my list of games to play.
Thanks for the suggestions, guys. Any more? My brother has Mass Effect, I'll get to play it when he comes back to take his 360 back to school. Bassfly & MoBalls - I saw fifa at Gamestop when I bought Dead Rising. Beautiful game, are the Dynamo in it? rockHEAD - I have COD4 on my PS3. GREAT game. I'll have to look into Fight Night. Isn't that the one where the Burger King "King" is an unlockable character in the game? Saints Row and Lost Planet I remember being interested in when they came out. Any other opinions on Lost Planet? KePoW didn't seem to like it. Project Gotham I will get, thanks for that idea tinman. Nero - I do like Dead Rising quite a bit. I was having aiming problems until I switched it to camera veiw in the options menu, but it's all I've played for two days.
Wow! I have no idea if the King is an unlockable character!? That would be cool... speaking of the King, his Pocketbike Racer game is freakin hilarious and fun, if you can find it. It was in limited release through BK only.
been playing NBA Street Homecourt lately with my bro's.. it's pretty fun! especially on power ups. I go back and play Burnout sometimes but I think I played so much I got Burntout. heh
hahaha I thought those games were hilarious (for about a level) but not fun. I got all of them when they came out. I wonder why that guy is so popular all of a sudden.. kinda like Chuck Norris.
20 bucks, yeah it's alright at that price. just definitely not at $50-60 though Dead Rising is f'in awesome
if you can find a good deal on PGR4, I would just get that and skip 3 4 is an improvement in every single way and is a great game
Just a few I can think of offhand: Dead Rising - a dude trapped in a zombie filled mall with about 72 hours to survive. You can use almost anything from the stores in the mall as a weapon (even stuff that isn't that powerful but entertaining like a plastic lightsaber from a toy store or a shower head that you plunge into the forehead of a zombie, causing blood to pour out as he falls down and dies). Great fun. Saints Row - a total GTA ripoff, but one that does it right. Better graphics, physics (explosions are excellent) and control than GTA, even. Huge sandbox game, a blast. Mass Effect - what everyone else said. Orange Box - HL2 is one of the greats, a FPS that's more about atmosphere than waves of enemies. TF2 is included; great multiplayer shooter. And Portal...well, portal is just a puzzle/adventure combination that kicks all kinds of ass. Halo 3 - don't think I need to tell you what this one's like. Elder Scrolls: Oblivion - if you like RPGs, get ready to waste a good portion of your life on this one. Huge open ended world, you can spend hours doing side quests without even touching the main story. Great graphics, lots to do - well worth the money. If you like your hand held in a game, stay away from this one. And of course folks have mentioned Assassin's Creed, which now that I've played it, I can tell you is a solid game. Not world beating, but also nowhere near as low scoring as some sites gave it.
