This just reminds me that Sony still hasn't released Singstar in the US. Ugh. I don't really care for the game (not really into the genre), but it looked like it did some pretty cool things. They should try to push it a little harder in the US IMO. Hmm...Wiki says it has a May release in the US. Maybe I'm overreacting a bit. It might be a good idea to release it with/after the release of Home. Are you a King of Fighters fan? Not really into fighters, but I saw that SNK showed KoF XII off at a show for arcades the other day. Apparently it will be released on the PS3, and possibly 360, in 2009 (arcade release in 2008). 2D can still look really nice if done right:
Yup, huge KOF fan. Joe Higashi and Terry Bogard are the best 2D fighting characters around as far as I'm concerned. Definitely looking forward to the next KOF.
I'm have a 360 now and will get a PS3 in 6 months, so I dont give a *****, because Im gonna have the best games in the universe.
Not really, since Gears of War is already on the PC, and Mass Effect is coming to PC. That doesn't leave much on the 360 that I'm desperate to have other than Lost Odyssey (don't like Halo 3, don't like Bioshock). Now the Wii... that's a different matter... I'd kill a man for Mario Galaxy, Mario Strikers Charged, and Super Smash Brothers Brawl.
any wolfenstein fans? "they" said that there was a new version being developed...that was four years ago =(
I figure they'll start talking more about that this year. I think it was supposed to come out in 2008, although a 2009 release might be more likely at this point. I think it was using the Doom 3 engine instead of id's new engine. If there were complications, they might have tried to switch over to the new engine, especially if they were having multiplatform issues. Not sure how likely that would be, but it might explain any kind of delays. Maybe they're just being really quiet about it, and a 2008 release isn't out of the question.
Singstar is only of the most popular PS titles in the world. It actually involves real culture and encourages participation and is easily played by anyone. Is it compatible with the PS3? Sony is actually using one of their best assets, its music catalog.. like Whitney Houston!
Looking into it, I don't think they've even released it in Japan. Its success (10+ million copies) has come largely from Europe only. Unlike other franchises, I don't see how it wouldn't see the same sort of success in the US and Japan if they push it as strongly as they do in Europe. The PS2 Singstar games should be compatible, at least with the 20GB and 60GB PS3s. I was talking about the PS3 version of Singstar though. It has already been released in Europe and Australia IIRC.
The 80 gb are discontinued. Best deal I found yesterday was here. I want it for the Blue Ray player and the backward compatablity is a bonus. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160208598020
