The 360 sure has a lot of awesome games -- does the PS3 have a single good game out yet ? Look at all these terrible PS3 games: Golden Compass Sonic The Hedgehog NFL Tour Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire Soldier of Fortune: Pay Back Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer Beowulf Enchanted Arms Cars: Mater-National Ratatouille _____ No thanks.
He probably didn't mean this, but from a sales perspective, we might get a good idea whether the 360 or PS3 is "better" by the end of the year. Unless they both sell roughly the same amount like they did in 07. That would be fun. It is out-of-stock, but for $240: http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=BD-P1000-R&cpc=SCH Refurbished too, but you weren't specific. I think some players on Amazon go for $315 or so IIRC.
That's a HORRIBLE player, google that model number and 'problems'. The BD-P1200 is a much better DVD player but the BD-p1400 is the faster BR player I was thinking about it...then http://www.audioholics.com/news/industry-news/blu-ray-lawsuit-vs-samsung?date=491720080213 Blu-ray Lawsuit vs Samsung Digg this story! Post to del.icio.us by Wayde Robson — last modified February 14, 2008 06:12 Blu-ray Lawsuit vs Samsung A consumer group charges that Samsung has knowingly sold defective Blu-ray players since June 2006 and is looking for $5 million in compensation. Samsung sold lead plaintiff Bob McGovern a BD-P1200 last summer which has turned out to be incompatible with some Blu-ray disc titles. The plaintiff attributes the player's inability to playback Blu-ray movies to a "defective design and/or manufacture". Attorneys have noted that the problems have caused many complaints against Samsung and other Blu-ray manufacturers. According to the suit, Samsung has verified that it doesn’t intend to provide any further firmware updates to fix this issue. A few specific Blu-ray titles are known to have problems in various players (especially Samsung’s BD-P1000 and BD-P1200) including: The Day After Tomorrow and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Many Blu-ray players require regular firmware updates to make them compatible with newer Blu-ray discs. It’ll come as a surprise to many consumers that simply taking home a Blu-ray player doesn’t mean you can start watching Blu-ray movies. A series of firmware updates are necessary to make the player compatible with newer movies. But what happens when the manufacturer refuses to provide firmware for new movie discs? You get a class action lawsuit against Samsung. The trouble is probably related to BD+, the DRM (Digital Rights Management) intended to guard against copy protection. Silver Surfer uses a Blu-ray java virtual machine to add BD+ copy protection which is unique to Blu-ray. BD+ is an additional layer of copy protection on top of AACS copy protection already used by both competing formats, Blu-ray and HD DVD. After AACS had been cracked last year, BD+ may have been rushed to appear on various movie discs. BD+ and its endless firmware updates have caused Blu-ray adopters serious aggravation and is a source of even further consumer confusion. According to ArsTechnica, Paramount sided with HD DVD because its competitor Blu-ray wasn’t “market-ready”. However Steve Feldstein, Fox senior VP of marketing communications says problems with disc compatibility are clearly the manufactures fault. "…consumers should lobby their hardware manufacturers to release firmware upgrades post haste" and that "the title was well-reviewed and playing well on updated players." Navigate Samsung’s website and try to find firmware updates for the BD-P1200 or BD-P1000 and you’ll soon experience the frustrations of Samsung's customers. How does a new high-def technology stand a chance at mainstream consumer acceptance when it doesn’t work out-of-the-box? Samsung’s older player BD-P1000 and LG's BH100 also has compatibility issues with newer Blu-ray discs. I’ve personally had experience with Samsung’s BD-P1400 and BD-UP5000 and had to get firmware updates for compatibility to Live Free or Die Hard and 3:10 to Yuma. The UP5000 never quite learned how to playback Sunshine and I’m still waiting for a firmware update to fix it. This could be the first in a series of lawsuits against Blu-ray manufacturers. The finger pointing has already begun between the studios and manufacturers. Perhaps Samsung made itself an easy target by being first to market with a disc player that supports an incomplete format.
Wow, could it be more obvious that you have an agenda here? First let's look over this list of yours: Golden Compass - also on 360 Sonic The Hedgehog - also on 360 NFL Tour - also on 360 Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire - WOW, YOU GOT ONE! Soldier of Fortune: Pay Back -also on 360 Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer - also on 360 Beowulf - also on 360 Enchanted Arms - also on 360 Cars: Mater-National - also on 360 Ratatouille - also on 360 Only one of those games isn't on the 360 as well. So I guess the 360 must suck too, huh? Know what I do when a game is terrible? I DON'T BUY IT! WOW! THAT WAS HARD! And I love how you conveniently leave off Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Resistance, Motorstorm, Warhawk, and Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction. Not to mention that Tekken 6, FF13, and MGS4 are on their way. And since you're sooooo into talking about non-exclusive games, how about: Rainbow Six: Vegas GRAW 2 Burnout Paradise Skate Tony Hawk's Proving Grounds Assassin's Creed NBA 2K8 Fifa 08 Madden 08 Virtua Tennis 3 Fight Night Round 3 Elder Scrolls: Oblivion The Orange Box Devil May Cry 4 CoD 4 Ninja Gaiden Sigma Rock band Guitar Hero 3 Unreal Tournament 3 Virtua Fighter 5 The Darkness DiRT Marvel: Ultimate Alliance Yes... clearly, alllll those games suck. I can't think why anyone would ever buy a PS3!
Of course it is. You get what you pay for. I think he just likes messing around in these threads. I kind of find his posts pretty funny.
relax, their just riling your feathers. most of these pro xbox guys have very little to zero gaming knowledge.
Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire is probably the best PS3 exclusive and it really sucks compared to the quality games on Microsoft's 360. I'll take made in America quality any day as well.
I'm pro Street Fighter. whomever has the system that allows me to play others Street Fighter, then i'll go with it. XBOX1 = Streetfighter Anniversary edition (online) you can play with people in Japan too ( oh I had the PS2 version too, so i could practice before the online version came out). XBOX 360 = Street Fighter 2 Turbo. Many world class players are on it. tournament players. SF4/SF2 HD Remix?? I know some of these guys have both systems and I've asked them which one they'll play on. they said Xbox cause they already have an established friends list/community of people that they play regularly. regardless that you have PS3, I suggest you get the streetfighter games when they come out on your system. its far superior to those dumb RPGs.
Thank god... at least now the sarcasm is obvious. Here I thought you just didn't have a brain before. A good gaming PC is far more expensive than a PS3. 3 times as expensive, at a minimum. You may recall my saying that I haven't anticipated a game like I have Street Fighter 2 HD in... well... a long-ass time. I don't need any encouragement on that one. And I still play Capcom vs. SNK 2 religiously to this day. But no, fighting games aren't "superior" to RPGs. Just different. That statement is only true for people with short attention spans.
No people who play fighting games have jobs compared to the RPG fans who have 60 hours to kill. I'll go over to my friends place with the PS3 to hit you with some uppercuts when it comes out! I'll own you PS3 sf players as well as the xbox ones.
